Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 part 1 Chapter 5 part 2 Chapter 6
Ville awoke to a knock at the cavern wall. He was disoriented for a moment, not recognizing his surroundings, and then it hit him. They weren’t at home anymore.
“Bam. Bam, wake up,” Bam mumbled something and turned over in his sleep. There was no way he was going to wake up that easily.
“Damn it Bam, I don’t want to have to hurt you.” Ville sighed, before he leaned over and placed butterfly wing kisses up Bam’s neck until he hit the sensitive flesh, and lightly bit down. A moan escaped Bam’s lips, he was awake, whether he wanted to admit to it or not. “Good morning love, well actually good night, but whatever.”
“Hmmm. I don’t want to be up,” Bam mumbled sleepily.
“Well you have to, or else…” he trailed off, hoping that would at least draw Bam’s attention.
“Or else what?” Bam asked turning toward Ville.
“Oh, never you mind,” Ville said and took his leave, taking his sword
with him. “You know, we need to get you a sword, but if you are going to sleep all night, then you won’t be able to get it.” There was another knock at the cavern wall. “We’re on our way!” Ville yelled.
“Fine. You're such a pain in the ass.” Bam said, getting up and dressing.
“But you love me anyways,” Ville said with a knowing smile.
“Sadly, I do. What the fuck is wrong with me?” Ville laughed at Bam’s remark.
“Come on Bammie boy,” Ville said as he opened the cavern door. As they walked out they were met by Jyrki.
“Have a nice sleep?” he asked, with an eye brow raised.
“Of course, but Bam wouldn’t get his happy ass up,” Ville answered as he shot a glare at Bam.
“Well I’m sorry, lack of feeding tends to make me sleep more.” Bam replied shortly, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Well then we should feed,” Jyrki said, solving that little problem.
“Wonderful idea, where should we meet?” Ville asked. This was going to be a long night if it kept going this way. The more interruptions the less likely they’d be able to do what they needed done.
“Where you met us yesterday. Bam needs a sword, and we need to test his skills to get one just right for him. Kain has the Soul Reaver, you have the Soul Keeper, I have Dark Presence, and so on. Bam needs a special one too…But what one…" Jyrki looked thoughtful for a moment, before looking up with an apologetic look. "Sorry for rambling on, go on and feed. Don’t forget to meet me by the swords.” Jyrki said as he took his leave.
Ville sighed. “Come on, love. We have work to do. I wish this hadn’t
started so soon.” The two started to walk out of the cave together, their fingers intertwined.
“What ever happened to me being in charge?” Bam pouted as he realized what had happened over the last 6 days.
“Well I got most of my memory back, and in it I was a much older vampire. So in this life now I do know more than you, even if I am a younger vampire. Never judge a vampire by their age.” he said, smiling at his lover as they walked out of the cave. The moon was just beginning to rise, so they didn’t waste too much time in there trying to get Bam up after all.
As they took their leave from the camp the night called to them, but they had to be very careful. With the enemy who knows where, they had to be on alert. Soon they were near an old village. Perfect place to find a victim, or two in their case. Ville was the first to strike, as he usually was. He bit the soft flesh of his victim and began to drink the dark crimson fluid. Whilst Ville was feeding Bam was stalking his prey. Carefully he watched
them step into the shadows. 'Perfect.' he thought, and he struck. Soon enough he was drinking the blood of his victim. Ville found him just as he was finishing. “Come on, we haven’t all night, you need your sword.”
“I know, come here.” Ville was pulled into Bam’s embrace; they weren’t going
to risk being fallowed back to the camp, so Bam transported them. The two vampires walked hand in hand to the place where they were to meet Jyrki. He was not the only one waiting for them there, the rest of the gang was too, along with a very pale Kain. Even for a vampire he was quite pale, which was very rare to happen. They thought by now he would have healed himself, but he didn’t. They let go of one another’s hand and waited.
“Bam, you ready?” Jussi asked. Bam nodded. “Good, now you are going to grab a sword, not necessarily the nicest one, but the one that draws your attention, and we’ll see how well you do fighting me with it.” Jussi was the best swordsman, and he had no idea what he was dealing with.
Bam chose a sword with a crimson sheath. It had a handle of ivory and a curved blade. The Dark Dreamer, not a sword for those who could not handle the power that it held. Bam drew out the sword and waited for Jussi to do the same, when he did they began. He was new to sword fighting whilst Jussi was not. Metal clinked and sparks flew, and soon The Dark Dreamer was knocked out of Bam’s hand. “If it is truly the sword for you call it, and it will come,” Jyrki said from the sidelines.
Try as he might, that sword was not for him. Jussi released him, and let Bam chose another sword. This one with an aqua blue sheath and a handle with a crystal ball at the end, with the hand protectors curving downwards. This blade was straight, unlike the other one. They called it The Dagger of the Heart, even if it was a sword. The one who could wield it was said to have great power. Bam had no idea why, but for some reason his eyes kept going back to it. He was drawn to it, so he picked it up. This time he was ready when Jussi took the first swing. Once again sparks flew as the metals clashed, and Jussi’s sword was thrown from him, though in a heartbeat it was back into his hand. He was indeed a swordsman. And soon the one Bam was using was knocked out of his hand, but this time when he tried to call it, it came to him. “Mr. Margera, I think we have found your sword. It is called The Dagger of the Heart, and it seems to have taken to yours. Take care with it, not many people can handle that one. Blagdon and I, sorry, Ville and I, are just a few of the people who can control it. I take it you’ll use it carefully?”
“Of course. Umm…is Kain okay?” Bam asked as he looked to Kain, who was beginning to lose any color he had when they got there and had started to sway slightly.
“I think it’s just a really, really bad hangover. So eventually it’ll wear off, but if you are concerned we could take him to go see Caress,” Jyrki informed them.
“She's is our healer,” Linde answered the unasked question of who Caress was.
“Is she a vampire?” Bam asked, eyebrow raised. He’s never heard of a healer that was a vampire.
“But of course. I’d take care not to provoke her, she is a tough as she is pretty. You don’t want to piss her off. I’m proud to have her on our side, and I think Ville, you’ll remember your old friend.” Jyrki said, with a hint of something that Ville was unsure of. Jyrki led the way to her cavern. Once they were there he carefully knocked on her door.
“Come in!” Caress yelled to them.
“We can’t, the door is locked!” Jyrki yelled back. Talysus, Caress’s assistant, came and got the door.
“Why hello boys, how can I help you?” Her aqua eyes lingering on Ville curiously before looking at Jyrki, affection pouring out of them. She blushed looking down at her feet, light blonde hair covering her face in golden waves. She glowed even after death.
“We have brought Kain, he doesn’t look so good,” Jyrki answered, motioning toward Kain who was leaning on Bam’s shoulder.
“Oh, he really doesn’t look good. Caress, you had better some see this!” Talysus yelled to Caress, worry in her expressive eyes. Caress walked over and her jaw dropped when she saw the state Kain was in.
“Oh my, what on earth happened?” Caress asked her dark eyes filled with worry.
“We’re not a hundred percent sure, Caress.” Ville said, drawing attention to himself for the first time. He tried to remember where he’d seen her before.
“Blagdon? Is that you?” She gasped, pulling him into a tight, affectionate hug.
“Caress, he is Ville now.” Jyrki said carefully. Then it hit Ville, she was the one that took care of him when he was sick, when he was mortal in his past life. Even if she was a vampire when she had taken care of him, she still had treated him as if he was her own. His nanny so to speak.
She looked Ville over, noticing a few of the changes. He looked younger and his hair was different, but overall he was the same. The same boy she had taken care of so long ago. "So it's Ville now? The dark one decided to bring you back? Thank goodness, I was lost with out having to worry about you.” She said hugging him again.
“I’m sorry, but what happened, happened for a reason. I'm not sure what the reason was, but it’s there.” Ville smiled, looking into her dark eyes. Her brown hair was pushed behind her ears.
She smiled. “Now, about Kain. Bam bring him here, and yes I know your name. Hurry up.” Bam brought Kain to her and laid him down where she wanted. “How much alcohol did he consume?”
“We have no idea, we found him and had to come here to warn everyone that the war has started. The one we had feared. Ville sent two people back to get him, and he was still passed out whilst this was happening. We have no clue what really happened to him, the only thing we know for sure is that he said ‘it has begun’ before he passed out. We were there for that part. Well, Ville and I were.” Bam said, trying to answer her question, but only succeeding in creating more.
“Caress, do you know what’s wrong with him?” Worry building up in Talysus’s eyes, almost to the brink of overflowing as she asked this. Then he saw it, they had the same aqua eyes. The ones that were so light they were almost white. He was her father. She was just a little girl the last time he’d seen her.
“He’s going to be okay, but he needs to rest. Why don’t you go out with the boys, you can introduce them to our best archer.” Caress smiled as she said this to Talysus.
“Ok, come on. I’ll introduce you to my best friend.” She lead the way, Jyrki with his hand around her slender waist. How did I know? Aren’t they just the cutest. I wonder if Kain knows about this...
‘Knows about what?’ It was Bam, but he hadn’t said anything. With his voice, that is.
‘Bam look ahead, what do you see?’
Bam looked up at the couple ahead of them before answering Ville‘s question. ‘Jyrki with his arm around Talysus’s waist, so?’
‘Whose eyes does she have?’ It hit Bam just as they’d stopped in front of another cavern door; the endless caverns were starting to bother Ville and Bam both.
“Kaida, you there?” Talysus asked into the doorway.
“Yes, I vill be right out,” Kaida answered back, a Transylvanian accent evident. She walked out, tying her raven hair back as she went. She had green eyes like Ville’s, only they didn’t sparkle the same, and they didn’t have the emerald in it. “My, my. Who are you?” She asked, her eyes changing from green to dark brown.
“Kaida, this is Ville and Bam. Ville was once the Dark Prince Blagdon.” Talysus answered, smiling happily at her memories.
“How nice to meet you.” Kaida said, her accent extremely noticeable. She smiled, her eyes turning to an aqua blue, making her glow. She shook both of the boy’s hands.
“So vat are ve going to do?” she asked, her eyes changing once again to dark brown. Her colour of question, her dark power, emotion through her eyes.
“Well, I was thinking about going and checking out the progress that we are making.” Talysus answered, with a smile at Jyrki.
Kaida’s eyes changed to a deep blue. “Okay. I’m game.”
They started walking, Kaida keeping close to Ville’s side. ‘How should I tell her I’m taken?’ Ville asked through thought.
‘Let me handle that,’ Bam slid his arm around Ville’s waist, pulling Ville to him and kissing him on the top of the head. Kaida’s eyes changed to a glowing green as jealousy flooded through her, but that was subsided as soon as she bumped into Jussi at the cave entrance.
“I’m so sorry Jussi, I vasn’t paying attention.” Her eyes turned sparkling green, her way of showing affection.
“I’ve seen that look in her eyes before, Talysus.” Jyrki whispered, as they watched their friend talk to Jussi.
“Does he like her?” Talysus asked him, worried about her friend, hoping that he did.
“Of course he does, can’t you see it in his eyes too? The next question is how to get those two together.” he answered, asking his own question.
“Maybe you just need to get them alone,” Ville said speaking up; they looked up at him. “Sorry for eavesdropping, but I see it too, and I hardly know her.”
“Point made. Hey Jussi, come here!” Jyrki yelled to his friend. Jussi came over. “Mind keeping Kaida company while we finish showing Bam and Ville around, we know it was boring her something terrible.”
“Okay, no problem.” Jussi answered, smiling. He walked back over to Kaida and took her arm in his, escorting her away from the rest of the group.
“Now that that’s solved, where to now?” Ville asked.
“Well, dawn isn’t for awhile so I think we should work on your fighting skills. I’m sure Ville is a bit rusty. Too bad I sent Jussi off, he could have used a challenge.” Jyrki stated.
“And my dad is sick, so I guess your going to have to fight my night in shining armor! Well, sort of.” Talysus said, smiling up to Jyrki. He couldn’t help but smile at that and placed a tender kiss to her lips before he motioned for them to walk on to the practice area.
“Okay, you ready?” Jyrki asked Ville as he readied his sword. Ville nodded his head and the fight was on. Swords clanking and sparking and being knocked out of hand, only to instantly return to their owners. This went on for awhile until Ville had Jyrki pinned into a tree with the Soul Keeper at his throat. Ville had won, and it had taken a lot out of him to. “Nice job, you haven’t forgotten everything.” Jyrki huffed. Ville smiled and leant him a hand.
“You’re still my hero,” Talysus said, as she kissed Jyrki’s cheek.
“Well we’re going off to bed, dawn is approaching.” Bam said and they took their leave. It took them awhile to find their cave but once they did they put their swords up, changed, and fell to sleep almost instantly. Bam snuggled up close to Ville, taking in his scent and drifting off to sleep with the soft sounds of Ville’s breathing, his arm in it's usual place around his love's waist.
