Upon waking, he quickly regretted it. His bones felt liquified. His hair was so knotted it hurt. His muscles were stiff and sore. He had the headache of a lifetime, and his throat felt like it was on fire. Yup. There was no doubt about it. Ville Valo felt like shit. He hadn’t had a cigarette in days, a decent meal in weeks, or a good fuck in over a month. Not to mention, that he was getting a cold. Maybe, just maybe, going to an ice bar in nothing but jeans and a t-shirt was a bad idea. Maybe. But ah well. What was done was done. He was about to roll over and try to go back to sleep when he heard noises in the kitchen. What the fuck? Normally, he would go and check it out. But the state he was in? Fuck it. It could have been Charles Manson for all he cared. He. Wasn’t. Moving. Squeezing his eyes shut, he tried to go back to sleep. A few minutes later, he felt the bed sink down next to him. He tried to tell whoever it was to go the fuck away, but it came out more like: Gdafkway. Then he heard it. That laugh. He knew that laugh. He opened his eyes and the shining face of his boyfriend appeared before him. A tray rested on the night stand. Bam pushed Ville s hair back and kissed his forehead.
“The demo got pushed back. Now rise and shine. I made you breakfast.”
Ville sat up and looked at the tray. French toast with syrup and powdered sugar, chocolate covered strawberries, coffee, and a little glass with daisies in it.
“Oh, Bam Bam. You..... Thank you.” Ville was speechless as Bam blushed and smiled shyly.
“I know I’m not a good cook Ape made the strawberries They might even still be a little frozen.”
“I’ll eat them last then. Oh Bammi. This looks wonderful.”
He took his time. The sweet meal combined with his lover’s presence was making him feel better by the moment. He caught Bam’s eye and licked the syrup slowly off of his fingers. He placed the empty plate back on the tray and picked up the bowl of chocolate covered strawberries. Bam took one and traced it along Ville’s lips. The older man smiled and opened his mouth, his tongue darting out to taste the bittersweet cocoa. He bit down slowly, the red juice spilling into his mouth and soothing his throat. He moaned quietly, finishing off a few more of the strawberries in the same fashion. Bam licked his lips, his eyes filled with love and lust as he watched his lover. A sultry smile spread across Ville’s face as he brought the next strawberry to Bam’s mouth. The skater boy took the fruit in his teeth and swirled his tongue over the chocolate. He bit down, chewing slowly as his fingers brushed across Ville s cheek. It always amazed him how soft the skin was. Like velvet. Like silk. They snuggled close, eating the strawberries slowly, taking their time to enjoy the quiet morning. It wasn’t often that they both had time to spend together.
And then the moment came. The last chocolate covered strawberry. They looked at each other. They looked at the strawberry. They looked back at each other. Bam grinned as the perfect solution formed in his mind. He took the strawberry and bit it away from the leaves, holding it in his mouth. His hand slid behind Ville’s head and pulled him in for a kiss. Ville’s tongue slid into Bam’s mouth, scooping the fruit away and back into his own. They dueled lazily for a while before the little red and brown treat was split in two. They pulled away, smiling, each eating their respected piece.
Ville nuzzled his head against Bam’s shoulder. Their limbs tangled together as they lay there in silence, simply enjoying the warm and lazy morning. No words were needed. Their warm bodies pressed together was all they needed. They didn’t need to move. They simply floated in the absence of need. They could, and did, spend all day in that bed. Bam breathing in the smell of Ville’s new shampoo. Ville tracing small imaginary patterns on Bam’ s stomach. It was perfection in its simplest form. It was love at its strongest.
