Dunn was fuming as he left the manor. He sat down on the steps, trying to calm down and sort his thoughts out when he realized that he wasn’t alone. Linde was seated on the railing across from him, filing his claws. Wait… Claws?
“Oh fuck.” Dunn muttered, tossing his cigarette aside. “Not you too.”
The blonde looked up at him with a raised eyebrow, amusement in his voice. “Say what now?”
“You’re a vampire aren’t you?”
Linde gasped and put his hand over his heart, pretending to be offended.
“Me?! A leach? A mere blood licking kitten? Surely, you must be joking!” He grinned at Dunn’s confused look, reveling a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. “What? You’ve never heard of lycans?”
Dunn racked his brain, trying to remember where he had heard the term. Cooper’s voice filled his head almost instantly.
Lycanthropes, Also called lycans. The media will have you calling them werewolves. There have been many disputes, disagreements, superiority complexes, and even a few wars between lycans and vampires. Nothing like you see in the movies… Well… Almost nothing… That one movie came rather close… But at any rate, they’re not big fans of each other.
Dunn stared at Linde, even more confused.
“But I thought… You’re friends with Ville. He’s a vampire.”
Linde chuckled and sat down next to Dunn.
“It’s often said that lycans are dogs, and vampires are cats. And that we fight just like they do. Well. When I was a little boy, we had a cat and a dog. They were the best of friends. To hell with instinct and society. They loved each other. They trusted each other. Now you have to understand, I’m talking about a little Manx cat and a big pit bull. He could have ripped her apart. But it didn’t matter. You couldn’t separate them. We tried to when they got bigger, yanno? We were afraid that he would really hurt her. Instinct would take over and that would be the end of it. We kept her in the barn, and him tied up in the yard… They both whined and cried so much. One night she escaped and we found them the next morning… Curled up together like… Like… Like my sister with her stuffed bear. You just couldn’t break that. After he died, she stopped eating. Stopped playing. Willed herself to die. Now THAT’S love.” He smiled sadly, staring into space. He had no idea of the impact that his words had on Dunn.

Ville sat in the large leather chair, Bam in his lap. They were half asleep and content with the world. They had spent the entire day talking. They knew each other inside and out. The best and the worst. Ville hadn’t wanted to talk about the things he did as a vampire, but Bam coaxed it out of him, his love never wavering.
“I have one more question.” He asked, his voice betraying how tired he really was. “If she hadn’t vowed not to marry, would you have married Lizzy?”
Ville thought for a moment. He thought about red curls and bright eyes. He thought about yellow and blue gowns covered with mud. He thought about laughter. He thought about tears. Taking a deep breath, he nodded.
“In an instant.”
“Would you have made her a vampire?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Go to sleep Bam.”
A kiss was placed on the top of Bam’s head, and the conversation was over.

It was a difficult thing to get his head around. Ville was a vampire, and the rest of the band were lycans. He had hung out with them so many times and he never even noticed. It was an odd concept to grasp. The four had been friends with each other for about a hundred years before they met Ville, and the five of them were together even longer before the band got noticed. Dunn couldn't imagine it. He loved the rest of the CKY crew more than anything, but a hundred year with Raab and Dico? He would end up killing them. Killing. That was another thing.
"We don't have to kill." Linde told him over cheeseburgers. "I mean, for us lycans we just eat like everyone else... Well... with a bit more meat..." He emphasized his point by taking a huge bite of his burger. "And as rare as possible. But warm. Nothing is worse than warm meat... Except getting bone shards in your gums... That sucks."
Dunn chuckled, shoveling a few french fries into his mouth. A glance at the ketchup made his face fall.
"What about vampires?" He asked quietly.
Linde's smile didn't waver as he kept on talking with his mouth full. "Well, most can just live off of animal blood. See, the best way to do it is to go to a butcher and offer to take some cow and pig blood off their hands. They would have just thrown it away, so they'll just hand it over for free, thinking you're some weird neo-goth. Stick it in the microwave for a few seconds... No harm no foul. But then... Human's are the tastiest." His eyes twinkled for a moment. "The urge is smaller for lycans than vampires, but it's still there in all of us. Humans are like... Fine alcohol for them. But there are a lot, like Ville and the new kid Mikey, who don't kill. So they just do the weird hypnotic thing they have." He laughed at Dunn's baffled expression. "It's all in the eyes. They catch a person like a deer in headlights. The person blacks out, the vamp gets a snack, the person wakes up later, a little dizzy, thinking they got a bad bug bite. No harm. No foul."
Dunn nodded slowly, remembering the night he saw Ville feeding. It made sense with what Bam had said. Ville didn't kill. But then the memory of the sight in Jussi's room made his stomach jolt.
"But what about. I mean. There are still killers. I mean... Jussi."
Linde sighed and shook his head.
"There are exceptions. Jussi is a special case. There used to be this... I don't know... Aristocracy of vampires. And they had what they called 'pets'. They would kidnap teenage humans. Usually around thirteen or fourteen. They would beat, rape, and torture them into submit ion for a few months and then sell them. They were status symbols. Slaves. Usually used for sex. Sometimes they were treated so badly, that their owner would have to turn them into vampires, just to keep them alive. And then the abuse would just get worse because they healed faster." Linde's face was streaked with anger as he thought of this injustice brought upon his friend.

Pain. Just pain. Nothing was left to be felt. It was dark. It was quiet. No. Wait. There was whimpering. Was it from him? He didn't know anymore. Footsteps. No. Not again. Almost to the door now. Step step step go the feet. Creek creek creek goes the door. Step step step. The bed sinks down. Not again. Fingers in his hair. A hand on his raw back. He cries out. The hand is gone. Confusion.
Jussi. One word. So soft. That voice. No. It can't be.
Jyrki?
His voice is so soft. Broken. Scratched from screaming. From crying.
No. Jyrki is dead. Gone. Then why is he sitting there? Another hallucination. Nothing more. Roll over. Go to sleep. Don't be fooled again.
Singing. Hush little brother, Don't say a word.
No. It can't be.
But the touches are too real.
He's here. He'll never leave again.
Then. Darkness. Sleep. It will all be better soon.

"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why won't you even consider it?"
"I have considered it. So many times. But it wouldn't be right. I couldn't do it."
"You mean you WON'T. You don't want to. Have you ever given thought to what I want? Maybe this is it. Maybe it's meant to be."
"Maybe it will destroy you."
"Maybe not."
"Disaster is built on maybe. I'm not taking the chance."
"Please think about it?"
"Please go to sleep."
"You don't want to talk to me?"
"I don't want to talk about THIS."
"So let's talk about something else."
"Like what?"
"Well... Like this..."
"Oh.... Oooooh...."
"I love you."
"I love you too."

Hush little brother don’t say a word.
Hush hush hush. This is love. Soft. Gentle. Strange. Beautiful. Love.
Four thousand years and Jyrki’s body hadn’t changed a bit. Smooth and strong. He hovered above Jussi like a guardian angel. His fingers danced along the defined muscles. His lips murmured words of comfort and love.
Mikey sat on the other side of the bed, watching the two in wonder. It always fascinated him to see them like this. Jussi was so fragile. So delicate. Like a hollow glass ornament. Kiss him too hard and he would break. Move to fast and he would slip away and shatter. Mikey watched. But never touched. He didn’t think to be jealous. He loved Jyrki more than anything and understood his reasoning behind everything. Some nights it would be just the two of them. Sometimes he would just watch. But not tonight.
Jyrki sat back and looked at him. His eyes filled with emotion.
“Come here darling.” He whispered.
Mikey didn’t even hesitate before crawling next to him, casting a quick look at Jussi. Messy hair and smudged eyeliner. He looked like a fallen angel. Oh how far he had fallen.
Jyrki placed a gentle hand on Mikey’s cheek, tilting his face to kiss him softly. They stayed like that for a moment. Not really moving. Just an innocent kiss. Never mind the fact that all three of them were naked. It was still innocent and pure. Jyrki pulled away slowly.
“Show him. Please. Show him that it’s not just me. Help me show him that he can be loved.”
Mikey’s heart soared at the words. He nodded slowly, moving up the bed so that his face was level with Jussi’s. The other man’s eyes were dark and wounded. Mikey wanted nothing more than to help make the hurt go away. He pushed Jussi’s hair out of his face and pressed a kiss to his forehead. He took his hand gently, and closed the distance between their lips. Jyrki watched intently as his lovers’ kiss grew deeper, but stayed ever so gentle. He knew he could trust Mikey. He trusted him with his life, and now it was time to trust him with his brother. This time, he was the one who watched as fingers trailed over skin. As love was made into image on the soft sheets of the large bed. He was filled with adoration for them both as Mikey brought Jussi back to his old self, if only for a moment. The sweet boy he had lost so long ago. When they finished, he kissed them both passionately and wrapped his arms around them. Jussi only had one thought as he drifted off to sleep.
Maybe this love thing isn’t that bad.

“I love you.”
It was so simple. For Ville and Bam, the words came easier than anything else. They were one person. One heart. One love. They belonged to each other. Forever. No matter what. A love that deep could not be destroyed. They needed each other.

Dunn pulled his jacket close around himself in a vain attempt at protection from the cold. His mind was buzzing with the events of the day. Also... He forgot to ask Linde if lycans also had hypnosis powers. Because, the entire time, all he could think about was getting closer to Linde. Kissing him. Doing... Other things. But no. It made no sense. Linde had to have been messing around with his head.
He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he wasn't paying attention to anything around him. Wasn't looking. Wasn't listening. Didn't even know that he was being followed until he felt two rows of sharp teeth sink into his shoulder. He cried out and fell to his knees as strong arms enclosed around him.
"Hush little one. It's ok. You'll feel much better in the morning."
Dunn looked up at the familiar face smiling down at him.
"You?" He whispered before he blacked out.
