Title: Close To My Flame
Paring: Vam
Rating: PG (It's got fluff)
Dicription: Bam says something that makes Ville just go into a depressed state. Ville cries and Bam has no clue why he is crying. Dunn tells him and Bam tries to make it up. Bam also cries in this..(lots of crying sorry. I usually cry when I hear the song Close to the Flame.) It's a song-fic with the song, "Close To The Flame."

“So are you gonna go make-out with your boyfriend?”

“He’s not my boyfriend Dunn!” Bam giggled and stumbled into the living room. Ville looked up from what he was doing and then clicked on a song to play. He played “Close to the Flame.” Bam knew something was wrong at this point. Ville never played that song unless something was wrong. Tears ran down Ville’s face. Dunn knew what was wrong; Ville had told him things he could never say to Bam. Bam looked at Dunn who pulled him down to the Pirate Bar.

The kiss sweetest, and touch so warm.

“Dunn what the hell is wrong with Ville?” Dunn sat Bam down on one of the stools. He sat right by Bam and looked him in the eyes.

“I don’t know how to explain this Bam, but I’ll try my best for Ville.” Dunn looked into Bam’s eyes. He sighed and pulled his thoughts together. Bam looked at Dunn.

“Ville thinks your dating.” Bam nodded shocked by what Dunn had just said.

“Why?” Dunn looked at Bam.

The smile kindest, in this world so cold and strong.

“Well he’s known you for ten years almost Bam. He’s dropped hints that he likes you and he thought you were to.” Bam nodded and he took his beanie off. Dunn sighed and ran a hand through his red hair.

“He asked me one day when you were out, ‘What do you think I should get Bam? I mean we are coming up on knowing each other for ten years. I want to get him something Dunn.’” Dunn sighed and he looked into Bam’s confused eyes.

“I told him I didn’t know. Then he said something like, ‘I was thinking a ring maybe…or is that too bold?’” Dunn folded his hands into his lap and Bam’s eyes were tearing up. He knew Ville loved him, just not as much as he thought. Ville loved him more. Bam wanted that, he knew he did. He felt the same way for Ville. All the time in the world wasn’t enough for him to spend with Ville. He wanted more. Much more.

So close to the flame, burning brightly.

“I told him go with his heart. So I don’t know Bam. I want to know your feelings for Ville.” Bam sighed and at this point silent tears had begun falling. All this stuff Ville told Dunn. Was Ville afraid to tell Bam? Was he afraid Bam would bash him for being gay?

“Dunn...” Bam sobbed and ran to the couch down near one of the fireplaces. He pulled his knees up to his chest and Ville could be heard through out the house singing “Close to the Flame.”
“It won't fade away, and leave us lonely.” Bam cried into his knees. He knew how Ville felt now. He wanted to propose to him. Bam just sobbed into his knees. Knowing what he knew now he had to make it up to Ville. He was going to propose to Ville, that night.

It won't fade away, and leave us lonely.

Dunn sat by Bam and ran his hand over Bam’s back reassuringly. Bam kept sobbing. Ville couldn’t hear Bam as he was wrapped up in his own crying. Dunn looked at Bam.

“There’s more.” Bam looked up at Dunn. He sniffled.

“Lay it on me Dunn.” Dunn nodded and pulled his hand from Bam’s back.

“All those songs written after you met Ville, those heartfelt ones. He wrote them for you.” Bam nodded and cried harder. He had cried more in the past ten minutes then he ever had his whole life. Dunn pulled Bam closer to him and he kept rubbing Bam’s back softly.

“So he really does love me. All those drunken kisses weren’t just for fun to him. They were special…” Dunn nodded and Bam looked at him. Hot tears streamed down Bam’s face. A wet puddle was already developed on Bam’s knees.

The arms safest, and words all good.

“Yea, to him every moment he’s spent with you is special.” Bam buried his head back into his knees and he kept crying as Ville’s cracking voice filled the house. It cracked because of all the tears, but it sounded beautiful to Bam.

“I feel the same Dunn…How do I tell him though? How do we keep it from the press?” Dunn looked at Bam who’s voice was a bit muffled by his knees and arms.

“You give him the ring.” Bam nodded into his knees. He was still crying. The tears kept coming. All the pent up sadness was now being released. All the nights he wanted to cry but couldn’t. All the sleepless nights of wanting to cry. They were finally being released by Bam.

“How do I go about getting one?” Bam’s voice was a bit shaky and cracking.

“I got one just in case. One I think he will love.” Bam looked up at Dunn and smiled.

“I can’t do anything without you Dunn.” Dunn nodded and pulled the ring out of a secret jacket pocket.

The faith deepest, in this world so cold and cruel.

Bam took the ring box and it had a heartagram sewn on the top. He opened it and inside was a diamond cut in the shape of a heartagram. It had two pure green emeralds on either side. Bam pulled the ring out of the box. Inside the ring itself there was engraving. It said, ‘I will love you forever till death do we part.’ Bam smiled softly as another tear ran down his cheek. He hugged Dunn and put the ring away.

“Thank you.” Dunn smiled softly and nodded.

“It’s the least I could do.” Bam thanked him again and scooted over to a pillow on the couch. Dunn got up and lit the fireplace. It was in the dead of winter.

So close to the flame, burning brightly.

Bam got up and walked upstairs. He saw Ville and sighed.

“I’m sorry.” Ville looked at him. His pure lime green eyes met Bam’s icy blues.

“Me too.” Bam walked over to Ville and got down on one knee. He pulled the ring box out and took Ville’s hand in his.

“I do consider you my boyfriend. And I know it’s very much returned.” Ville’s eyes were wide.

“So, I wanted to ask you something.” He let Ville’s hand drop and he opened the ring box.

“Will you marry me?” Ville’s eyes went wider. He smiled and nodded.

“Yes!” Ville smiled as Bam slipped the ring onto his finger. He got up and Ville hugged him. Bam kissed Ville’s soft pink lips. For once in his life he knew true love.

It won't fade away, and leave us lonely.
