Trinity watched as people rushed passed, seemingly in a rush, despite the fact that it was late in the night. The city never slept, though that was true in several different ways. She looked into the eyes of humans as they came toward her and passed without even slight acknowledgment.
The night was warm and damp, humidity filling the air around her. City lights glared in her eyes and the sounds of the bustling annoyed her ears.
How she hated the city.
But it served her existence well. There were more than enough people to satisfy her thirst for blood, many of those people whose vanishings went without notice. What was one human to a city such as New York?
She glanced up as she passed a rather large clock, displaying a time of 11:17. Magnus would be expecting her. Trinity looked around one last time before slipping into an alleyway, into the darkness of the night.
