ok so, we're not breaking up as i originally thought (and was told). Jake and Chris are out after the 25th of February. they're being really nice about it, and they've given us this long so we would have time to find new members.

it is very bittersweet. i joined this band under the presumption of some sort of strong bond, and i never would have thought that bickering over what style of music to play could split the five of us apart (six, apparently, now that Karl is no longer merch. [still not sure about that]). Conley, James, and I are still going to keep going. we're going to make music we love for people we love. and most importantly, with people we love. don't think this means anything bad about Jake and Chris, they are and always will be like family to me, and i completely understand their decision. the more i think about it the more inevitable it seems. when there's a division in the band about where to go and what to sound like, almost nothing can keep it together.

it just means this is going to be a new beginning for the three of us. we're trying out new guitarists and new vocalists. it seems odd but i will be carrying on the old songs that i know into the new FNTN. regardless of what anyone thinks, i am going to keep these songs in the regular lineup. i had nothing to do with recording them, but they are where FNTN came from, and what the foundation of FNTN really was.

we're going to progress, and i'm not going to lie, expect a very drastic change in the music we start putting out once we have a solid lineup.

the most important part for me is that no hard feelings remain after this. i hope that everyone understands Chris and Jake would not do this without very good reason, and that they are not trying to end the band or set us up to fall.

much love,
mike.
