Today I pet the first dog since finding about Dakota. The dog went from friend to friend to be pet. He finally came to me and just looked up at me so calmly with his big eyes... I know it sounds stupid but it felt like such a knowing look. I pet him between the eyes and thought of my own dog. I miss her. It's her birthday a week from today.
