No, i'm not quite ready to write that one yet. I'd like to take this time to update on something that has been bugging me since I officially found out about it. Bloc party, my friends, is opening up for, you guessed it, panic! at the disco. wait, i lied, you couldn't have POSSIBLY guessed that combination. so, what exactly bothers me about this. i'm not sure i'll be able to put it into words, but when i saw broken social scene open up for bloc party i was already a little weirded out because i felt like if anything bloc party should have been opening for broken social scene. not that it's a numbers game, but broken social scene has, like what, 4 albums compared to bloc party's 1? I wouldn't call BSS legendary, but they certainly deserve more than to open for bloc party (not that i don't heart bloc party). ANYWAY, to hear that bloc party is opening for panic! is just like having a huge 200 ton rocket being launched into my face. i'm not sure who i'm mad at though. am i mad at mtv for blowing up panic? or am i mad at panic for shredding up the scene and rising to a pre-mature fame? or am i mad at panic's management for being so disrespectful as to ask bloc party to tour with them? or am i mad at bloc party's management for agreeing? OR is it a fair blend of all four? who knows. it just doesn't make me happy. that's all. but would i like to go see jack's mannequin, bloc party, and panic? hell yes, i would. is it going to happen? who knows, it's probably big bucks for some CRAP assigned SEATS. the music industry's gone to balls. the end.
