hello hello
hello hello!
it's the weekend again. it's really depressing and surprising how fast the weekend comes up. it's crazy!!!
but i bought some more internet and thought i should update!
last weekend was SO great!
george and i went for a drive...a long drive :) we went down The Great Ocean Road! Finally! we've planned for it, and cancelled it...i mean it's basically right outside our backyard so to speak, but I've just been SO busy!!
We left on saturday morning and did the drive to apollo bay which was our stop over point. on the way stopped to see TONS of WILD koalas!!! can you believe that...haha cause i coudln't. I was like a kid in a candy store. We stopped at a few different places along the way.
I ended up getting a bit car sick at the very end of the drive - i think it was because i was videotaping the road (at least that's my assumption) and i couldn't eat the dinner that i ordered from the apollo bay hotel so i passed out in the car. Our "hostel" was pretty hilarious. it was an old house with an extension out the back for rooms with bunk beds - alright that was fine. but we decided on a private double bed room for ourselves...and they were trailers just scattered in the back yard haha it was pretty funny. but it was okay for us seeing as we were only staying a night and getting up early in the morning....BUT it wasn't so great haha. we stayed up for a few hours swatting and killing GIGANTIC black moths with one of my thongs (flip flops for the non aussies haha). It was scary! It just reminded me of my first night in Newcastle being petrified and swatting huge cockroaches. it was literally deja vu for me!!
but anyways. the bed we wanted to sleep in had bugs in it (yuck!) so we crammed ourselves into one of the 3 bunk beds that was also in our "room" haha. it was alright...like i said we were up early anyways - plus it was super cheap! so can't complain "too" much hahaha
the next morning i was really excited...totally focused on the 12 apostles!!!
we got there and i was so happy! it's just one of those things that you know you have to see beacuse it may not be there in say 100 years or something. I mean one crumbled this year already, a couple months ago. Seeing them was like seeing the eiffel tower for the first time for me...yeah that exciting :)
BUT i forgot my other SD card for my camera to cause i had used up one of the cards already...so on our way back to the car they had a scenic helicopter service operating in the back of the parking lot....and we walked over to check out prices. We thought about it for what seemed like a second and then looked at each other and said "yeah f**k it...lets do it!!" haha and then literally 5 seconds later we were guided to a helicopter that was already operating (spinning it's propellers haha) and we were off!!!!!!!! It was the most AMAZING thing i've done in a while! We saw the best views, the best sights, and got a one on one experience with the guide it was SO great! And I have the BEST pictures and the BEST video!!! I can't wait to show everyone back home! Be prepared it's awesome!!! :) hehe
My mom was especially excited when i told her about the Koalas! :) George even said that he's never seen that many koalas in the wild before ever either...so it was a sight to see!! :)
This week has been pretty crappy for weather! raining and gloomy! but the weekend is GORGEOUS!!! So after george gets back from paying the rent, we're going to go to an exhibition and then go to the beach! SO excited!!! :) And then tonight it's Jenny's Birthday!!!!!!!!!! whoo!!! big party!!!
I am SO excited for my trip! You have NOOOOO idea!!! I just can't wait! I mean yeah time is just going by WAY too fast...but man I'm SO excited!! Ayres Rock!!! Aboriginal artifacts and walks :), the Great Barrier Reef! AN AMAZING (much needed) VACATION!!!!
PLUS i booked my flight to come home for Christmas! It's just tentitve at this moment because I can change it as many times as i want, to whenever i want with no charge or penalty! which was my fear about booking it. SO i'm really happy about that! it's valid until the end of jan so that's awesome!!
Everything is just happening SO fast!!!
Well I just thought I'd give a quick update!
SARAH!!! I called you today! Talked to your Mom! She was SO surprised to talk to me! hahaha Miss you babe! talk to you soon, sorry i missed you!!! i'll call again i promise! I know your hours tomorrow! :)
