hopeless- a single word that you would not expect from me.

im getting over you.

thanks robyn for getting this stupid song etched into my head..

he took his first step outside of the bank. a sigh of relief consumed him, he got the student loan; by looking at the amount he knew he would be working extended hours and maybe even years- it was worth it. he stopped and looked around to take in his surroundings; he was in the shopping center that had stood since he could remember, he saw familiar faces. they wouldnt know that they would never see him again, no one would. his stomach clenched, the thought of leaving his home and family and friends was difficult but inevitable. his plan was simple: pack at night, call a cab to the airport, vanish into college at new york. he loved and hated this idea. either way it was happening, he had bought his airline ticket already, his flight was at 3am.
at 12am he was already packed, and the cab arrived making more noise then necessary. as he walked out of his house ladden with his luggage he took one look back into his old house, everyone was asleep they wouldnt find his note for several hours by then he would be gone. this was it, his first seperation. he got into the cab and the drive to the airport began. they took the highway, and passed over many familiar roads, his friends lived there. he couldnt help but remember the past 4 years of his life. what was he doing? throwing it all away? he didnt allow his eyes to get misty. he turned from the window and looked forward, he was leaving. his second separation.
he arrived at the airport. unloaded his luggage and sent it to get checked. with only his phone, wallet, and backpack filled with some necessary items, he was tempted to make calls and tell someone he was leaving. he was weak. as the number rang, he didnt expect anyone to answer and no one did. he heard the familiar voicemail he had heard since freshman year and left a messege. when he sat down in his terminal he noticed he only had 20 more minutes left. he couldn't help but wish that someone would miraculously come to find him and convince him not to leave. and he wished the stupid clock would move faster. neither came true.
