(no subject)
sooo yesterday was my birthday
and i spent the entire day with my mom
and my birthday could not have been more perfect.
first we went to the nail salon
then i went to get my cartilage pierced.
on the way there, i saw my ex-boy friend in the car with my ex-best friend.
on my birthday.
and that was really really hurtful.
but my wonderful mother was so perfect, and took me to go get snow cones while we talked about everythinggg.
i love her to death. i can't imagine where i'd be without her. there were a lot of tears, but the good kind.
snow cones are wonderful. they make everything better.
anyway, so then on the way to lakeline mall, we stopped at strait music. when i told her how nervous i am about next year, about not being good enough and everything, we both started crying again!!
then she told me about how when she was in air borne school, she was running and trying out (i don;t really remember what it was called) for something, she finished, but not fast enough. she had worked soo hard, and had to be 'recycled.'. Her options were to work hard for the next 4 weeks and try out again, or she could go home. Of course, although she was so embarassed and ashamed and everything, she tried out again. She made it the second time.
Our talks yesterday made my 18th birthday one of the best ever. I am so grateful to her for everything.
anyway, we went shopping for a little while at the mall, and talked about more stuff. it's so much fun just hanging out with her sometimes.
She bought me a pair of shorts and a cute top.
then, me her and my dad went to Olive Garden for dinner. soo good. and they gave us this huge cake!
Then we went home, and the Burrs came over to celebrate and eat cake and talk and stuff.
cake was deliciouss :]
and mel was so sweet! sometimes just talking with people can make everyone feel wonderful!
so my parents got me a perfume i've been wanting and some luggage.
i can't believe how soon i'll be using that luggage to move into my dorm. it's insane!
I get my housing assignments in about 2 days, but i won't know my roommate until Aug 4! i really wish i didn't have to wait that long!
anyway, that was pretty much my birthday. Ilea and i were supposed to go clubbing, but because of our parents being a little ridiculous, we'll have to wait until after i get back from DC.
Oohh i forgot to mention all the phone calls from my family in el paso.
my favorite was from my grandpa, who sang me the spanish birthday song. i love it when grandpa sings. i even recorded it on my phone :]
that's about it for now.

and were leavin to DC on sunday, and i'm pretty excited about that too :]]]
