happy november!
today i was walking back from the library & it suddenly hit me how much i really love my campus. its 44 degrees out today, and walking to journ at 9am it was raining pretty hard, but walking back it was just sort of sprinkling here & there, but everything was soaking wet. and even in the wet, dreary rain and freezing cold, i still love my campus. i love crossing huntington, i love the paths, the buildings, the feel of the layout, the way we manage to have green and lawns and flowers even though were smack in the middle of boston.. i just really love it. so as much as im struggling to find people i identify with, and classes i truly love, its nice to know that the actual physical campus acts as a huge comfort for me.. i dont know. its just nice.
updates on life?
well.. lets see. the medication they gave me for strep, since i never had strep, combined with my mono and graciously decided that together they would give me a red, somewhat itchy, welt-like rash all over my entire body. wasnt that nice of them? its been three days, and the doctor said wait 3-5 before i freak out that its not gone.. my arms seem to be better, but my back & stomach certainly are not.
i have slowly begun going back to class, made it to history lecture yesterday for the first time in a week & a half - was fairly productive; worked on mom's powerpoint & uploaded pictures to facebook. hahah. ohhh history.
went to journ today for the first time in two & a half weeks, that ones tough since it requires getting up at 8;30 - having journ 1 at 8am next semester is going to be such a killer. at least its only two days a week? anyways, my journ teacher has been really nice about my absence, he gave me two articles to compare/contrast and offered to email me some other make up work.. its sort of a pain, but hes not at all a hard grader, so as long as i know exactly what hes looking for i can get As on his papers. he said hed let me make up the midterm, but we didnt talk about a date, hes a very chill guy. he appreciates that im jewish & that i laugh at most of his jokes during class.. haha.
scored a 97% on my math midterm - pretty damn impressive if i do say so myself.
got a 5/5 on my last history quiz, and 100% on my math quiz before the midterm, so im doing pretty well. ive got another history quiz this afternoon & a math quiz tomorrow which im sort of worried about - matricies confuse me, not gunna lie.
halloween weekend was sort of a bummer, mostly because i didnt want to overextend myself, so i stayed in friday night since i [thought i] had an invite to a costume party saturday night. turns out i got uninvited, and told i was only invited because she didnt think id actually want to come. so i ended up in and bumming around both nights, but thats life i guess.
tuesday was fun - me, rach, kate & alex dressed up and wandered campus, hoping to make it to this carnival in west village, but it turned out to be for little kids, so we went back to rach & chrstines room and had a giant party/took too many ridiculous pictures, watched the shining and then house.
my mommy leaves for denmark this afternoon, shes gone til the 14th. im going to miss talking to her every day, not something id ever expect myself to say, but now that im far away my mom & i get along really well.. i guess that happens when your 3000 miles from home. shes currently iming me and bugging me to drink cranberry juice.. haha.
anyways, today is sort of hectic. as soon as im done updating this thing im going to read through as much of my history summaries as i can, and then finish the math problem set from in class/start the practice quiz. i may or may not grab lunch in the dining hall, but either way im going to my math teachers office hours from 2-4 and then ive got history from 4;30-5;40. then ive got my meeting at 6, usually get out at like, 7;15 & then ill grab dinner somewhere, come back to my room for an hourish and then head to rachels for greys at 9. then ill have my phone date with naomi & hopefully crash into bed..
twenty days til im back in california. i really can not wait. ♥
