Ahoy there 2010!

Dec 31, 2009 03:19

It's 3AM and I still can't sleep. After much reflection, 2009 isn’t really a good year for me in terms of personal growth. I feel like I could be so much better, but I’ve succumbed to dependency, laziness and well, winging everything that comes on my way. What happened to the drive and motivation to make oneself a better person? What happened to self-resiliency? It used to come out effortlessly. Now I’m just dragging myself to just GET OUT.

I don’t usually make “New Years Resolution” lists mainly because no one really follows through with it. Ah well. I shall bite my tongue now. It’s still worth a shot though, right?

That is why I came up with: THINGS MM MUST TRY TO DO.. NOW!

NEW YEAR = NEW LIFE = NEW MINDSET
  1. Get back to your priorities, like how you were back in 2006/2007. You know what you wanted, and had an idea of what to do to get it. You were a lot more upbeat, and quick-thinking too. You’ve gotten lazy and dependent, man. IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO LEAVE THE DARK SIDE!

  2. Start sleeping early. MM, insomnia is not a good thing at all. As I’ve noticed that as the months progressed, your bedtime gets later and later. It started at 1AM-now you’re still wide-awake at 3AM. Not a good thing, MM. Not a good thing.

  3. Read and write. Your books & magazine subscriptions are just piling now. Manage your time to read them! Your writing (and comprehension) skills have diminished greatly over the past year. Get back to that. It’ll help greatly.

  4. Lessen unnecessary expenditures (aka impulse shopping). I keep telling myself this, but honestly, just buy what you really need. Stop it with the gadgets and clothes. You have enough. If you can manage to make cute outfits using limited clothing resources with Rayson’s Poupee account, you can do this IRL. Honestly, MM.

  5. Stop excessive web surfing. Honestly, being in front of the monitor 24/7 isn’t good for you. It strains your eyes (and lets be honest here… you aint got perfect vision. Save what you can still save!) and your back as well. You’ve said so yourself, the Internets have gotten quite boring now. Go outside and help the maids with the household chores. Clean your room. Exercise. Go out. Do something more productive other than be in front of the monitor all day.

  6. Make the effort to be closer with your siblings. Blood will always be thicker than water. Self-explanatory.

Phew. Reading that again, I can't help but think: gee man, that's a LOT to keep in mind. Oh well! Aja aja, fight!!
