AVP Rocks! !! !
Ok if you’re a scifi fan gotta see this movie. If you read the books… still got to see the movie. As usual the movie cant live up to the book…. But you will notice a similar female character. I’m not going to spoil by saying this and that about it. But I will say this for the type of movie it is…. You can still take the family to see it. As long as the little kids don’t get nightmares from scary monsters. Other then that it was not “gory” movie there was not a whole lot of blood, very little cursing (I think just “fuck” twice) no gratuitous sex/nudity. It was a great action movie, they didn’t try to toss in humor or horror, unless you count the two main stars, Alien and Predator as being a horror monster.
Now I do have a few complaints, wouldn’t be a good review with out them. First I didn’t care for some of that camera shots they seemed a little to shaky. I also didn’t like the fact the movie ended almost as soon as got really good. It seemed just as they got “well armed” it was like oh wait time to go… Another thing I didn’t like was one Alien wiped out two Predators… although it was one of the better fights. However one of the Predators seemed shocked that the Alien’s blood was acidic… come on Alien 101! Then there was one part were one of the humans was chased by 3 Preds, fell down this tunnel big drop. He was stun then woke up to 2 Preds uncloaking in front of him. They left him alone because he was unarmed, the third killed him. Predators don’t kill unarmed pray, no challenge no honor. Hell in the Pred 2 the Pred didn’t kill the female cop, even though she was armed because she was pregnant. I guess the argument could be made that A) they were inexperience Predators and B) he was at one point armed… but still. Other then that id say this was a great movie, classic pure action.
