Mera Luna 2006

I know it's been a while but it took some time to recover from this year's Mera Luna. I think I need to consider the whole camping thing...

Friday
Met up with speedy777 and another friend at the station to drive to Hildesheim early afternoon. As every year, we were planning to camp at the Vipnation camp so we needed some space for about 15 tents plus big party tents. Arrived in Hildesheim 3ish, stopped to eat at BKs before going to the festival site. The others had already reserved some space for us so we started putting up our tents. And then the relaxing part began: meeting friends, walking around the camping site - and drinking. Unfortunately, the alcohol made me a bit tired so I fell asleep on my chair and didn't make it to the Hangar party :(

Saturday
Woke up just in time to see Sono opening the main stage. Too bad they were playing that early and only 20 minutes - wish they had played more and longer - I very much enjoyed the "electronic breakfast" (quote singer Lennart)!

On with some festival shopping, grabbing a free Sonic Seducer bag, and then back to the tents to have some breakfast and get hair and make-up done.

Re-entered the festival site in time to see Girls Under Glass play. It was like a meet&greet on stage with all their guest singers, including Eric Burton, Oswald Henke and Peter Spilles.
Their gig was followed by Mesh so I made my way up front. As they are one of my favourite band, I enjoyed the gig even though I missed some songs. Very funny when Mark introduced the wrong song and was introduced to the setlist ("Mark - setlist, setlist - Mark"). The show finished off with one of my highlights, "From this height" :)

On with Funker Vogt - not quite one of my favourites but they're ok to watch. A real energetic show.
And talking about Funker, I searched everywhere but couldn't find a beanie for mizartiay.
Bumped into nersti and had a nice chat with her. As much as I am happy for her + her boyfriend, I miss her not living in the neighbourhood any longer :(

I continued to watch the bands on the mainstage and didn't set my foot in the Hangar. Next bands on were Die Krupps, Front Line Assembly, the great Nitzer Ebb and Bauhaus finished the day off.

Managed not to meet Spidah_2012 all day but we finally met at the Hangar party. Which I didn't really like - the music was not quite my taste. But maybe I should've had another drink or two to enjoy it...
So I left 3ish and had a shower - at least you didn't have to queue up at that time of the night! Wish the shower had been hotter though, the night was freezing cold. Glad I had another blanket to pull over my sleeping bag!

Sunday
Didn't quite make it in time to see Solitary Experiments... They were up way too early for me. Sorry Dennis!

First band for me was Soman - and this was my highlight of the festival! The sound in the Hangar was very quiet in the beginning but as everybody was screaming to turn it up, it got louder after half a song. And I was dancing like mad, had great fun!

Met my "old" yahoo friend pat_bate_man and her boyfriend and brother again - we haven't met for 2 years so it was nice meeting them again! Hope we'll meet sooner than in another 2 years...

After Soman, we walked around the festival site a bit and bumped into vile_servitude and dj_steve_rbn. Yes, the world's a small place ;)

I took off for a small rest at the camping site to eat + drink a bit - and to relax my hurting feet. Needed to be fit for Apoptygma Berzerk, the last band I wanted to see fot this weekend. And what a great setlist it was - all the classic songs! Far better then 2 years back when they also played Mera Luna.

Returned to the tents, packed everything and drove home again. After two and a half days of camping, I longed for my bath and a real bed again :)
... and am already looking forward to next year's Mera Luna!
