As I write this, summer is over half way done, and it makes me so sad. I love summer, and this summer has just been a blast.
In late June, I went to Seattle with Ashley. Though it was cold, it was without a doubt the highlight of this summer. It was just so darn pretty there. And not one of those "omg its green, I never see green" type of pretty. It's beautiful in its own sense. While it's green, its gray. While its sunny, it is cloudy. But probably the most beautiful part of Seattle is the skyline and Downtown Seattle itself. Coming from Phoenix, and a smaller town in New York, you don't really appreciate real skylines until you really see one up close. And, probably the best part about Seattle is the rich culture. Again, coming from Arizona you don't see family owned coffee shops and book stores every other corner, or just a huge farmer's market with home grown fruits and vegetables. It was nice being some place like that--some place where people really took the time to appreciate what they have been given. We ate at a seafood restaurant on the waterfront, and it was soo pretty. My favorite part of the trip was, of course, going to the Diamondbacks Mariners game (the Mariners won 7-3). Although we lost, I had such a great time. I was fortunate enough to get the seats for free because my friend Arthur from school lived in Seattle and is good friend's with the Mariners' CFO's son. We had great seats up in the Wells Fargo Club level, and everyone at the game were so nice to us, while joking around about me being a Diamondbacks fan.
Besides that, my summer has been filled with the usual, friends and baseball. I've spent quite a bit of time down at the ballpark, just having a great time at most of the games. Though the team may be horrible, its so nice to be able to get out of the house and being doing something fun, that I love to do. I've been lucky enough to borrow my dad's very nice Canon Rebel and Industrial lense, as I like to call it. It takes great sport photos and can get in pretty close. I sit about 20 sections from homeplate, right next to the Right Field Bullpen and can get very close pictures with that camera. I have also gotten to sit in a couple other places, including $145 seats that were given to me and dad, to get even closer pictures. I'm in the process of trying to figure out Photoshop and iPhoto to edit them and make them look very nice. But all the editing makes me love my Mac even more!
To pass a lot of my day time, since I generally prefer going out with friends at night, I've been rereading the Harry Potter series in a ridiculous order (so far: 6,7 and now i'm reading 4). Because I have not read them since the summer of 2007, I feel like I had forgotten a lot and its nice to reread the series. They really are great books that I enjoy reading.
I move into my apartment down in Tucson in a few weeks, depending on when they let me move in since I want to move in before the date on my lease. I am really excited to live in the apartment, but am still a bit weary living with people I've never lived with. Not to mention, buying all of the stuff for it gets stressful--thank god I do not have to buy furniture!
I am a little worried for school to start: Eller just kicked my ass last semester, and I really love my sleep. But, I'm sure it'll be a great and fun-filled semester including football games and a trip to Boston in September. Cannot wait.
I think that's it for now. Until next time!
