When your past and your present come together and meet, it's kind of an interesting experience.
I had a great time this past week having a very good old friend come up and visit me. It was so nice seeing him and spending time with him after not being able to for three years. It's such a nice feeling to know that even after all this time and everything that has happened and changed, the things that made me become close friends with a person have not changed. Sometimes I wonder what good things I must have done to become so blessed to have such incredible friends--both from my past and in the present. I guess to answer the question of how I can manage to stay in touch with old friends from far away... it's because those friends mean so much to me and its easier to go through the effort of keeping in touch (no matter how hard it seems, in reality it's really very easy) than it is to know that I could have saved a really good friendship if I had only taken the time to write even a short letter every now and then.
I'm thankful for all of you who know who you are. I've said it a zillion times before and I probably can't say it enough (each time does not take away from the sincerity at all, promise) but I love you all. Truly.
P.S. It's never too late.
