Concrete steps that I sat upon
I wish they gave me solid ground
it was so cold out, but I felt warm inside.
hard leaves crunched below my feet as we walked for miles
& the wind tried to push us around
but no, we felt invincible
Trying to collect my thoughts, I sat myself down
heart racing, hands shaking I looked 'round
I saw a building, a fantastic one
all lights & architecture & majesty right in front of me
I was walking on the most beautiful cobblestone streets
in a city which I just met.
I know there's filth upon these streets
but it hasn't started to rub off on me yet
Here the mind can race
it can think, wonder, imagine
I am sitting here but I can't feel a thing.
