Your Opinion
-An overrated musical:: PHANTOM OF THE OPERA... I don't understand. at all.
-An overrated song:: Defying Gravity - Wicked... it's great, but come on. the whole show shouldn't be associated with that song only. and if it had to be any song, at least make it a Kristin song because clearly those are surperior. :p
-An overrated composer/playwright:: ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER
-Techies:: are awesome. without them there is no show. ha.
-Prima Donnas:: suck... but the one in POTO was kinda funny.
-Stage moms:: I'm thinking of Gypsy now, lol
-Child actors:: I don't think it's the greatest idea, but someone's gotta do it...
-Off-Broadway:: the gems of theater. I wish I could see just one.
-A musical that should have a sequel:: Avenue Q. It even ended with a possibility for a sequel with the new kid right out of college finding the Q.
-A musical that should NOT have a sequel:: Phantom of the Opera. :p...or Rent. you can't recreate that magic.
-A musical that exists for no purpose:: there's always a purpose
-A musical that should not have been made into a musical:: there's an obvious answer, but I bet it's becoming redundant. :p
-Simplicity or extravagance?: part of me wants to say simplicity because I feel those shows have more meaning and more emotional substance. shows like SITPWG don't have huge sets, gorgeous costumes, booming music, and fascinating lighting, but that show was sure effective and won my appreciation and respect. extravagant shows like Wicked and POTO are a little lost on me in content since it's nothing spectacular or even worth mentioning. but as for Wicked, great acting and great music makes it very enjoyable. POTO thrives on extravaganza and still doesn't leave a mark on me. I guess what I'm TRYING to say is with extravagance you get a very enjoyable show and probably lots of listening to the cast recording time. but with simplicity you get more than what you came for, you get a life lesson, you leave the theater not with songs running through your head, but thoughts that will run through your mind for years and years...
-Which is most important in the technical aspect: um. all of it.

-Do you want to do theatre as a career? If not, then what?: yes. I want to produce Broadway shows or be part of the creative team... anything. I just want it always.
