i am really bitter.

but i was robbed i tell you, ROBBED! D:

Savanna students, parents, faculty, and the class of 2007… my name is Thuy-Tien Nguyen. Though; most of you know me as THUY, and I would like to thank you for this opportunity to speak on behalf of our class today. WE MADE IT. WE’RE GRADUATING!!! :) We’ve dreamt of this moment since our first steps on to Savanna’s campus four years ago. Four years of dreaming; and here we are… sitting on cheap chairs on the grass for two hours! Isn’t this great? Today signifies the end of one dream, but also, the start of another.

Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Our dreams are what pushed us to this moment. It was our dreams of the future, with the hope to succeed, that have molded us into the people we are-future doctors, lawyers, CEOs, soldiers, nurses, firemen, teachers, mechanics, mothers, fathers--the possibilities that lie ahead for us are endless. No one can tell us to limit our dreams. ANYTHING can happen.

During our four years at Savanna, we have done countless things, and many dreams have stemmed from our experiences. I believe that taking part in these activities have helped us find the right path to take to advance into our futures and build upon what we've created. We have met people who have made an impact on our lives. Our friends have encouraged us to realize that any and all of our dreams are obtainable. We have had teachers that truly believe in the potential that lie within their students, and those teachers have always encouraged us to advance confidently in the direction of our dreams. These people won’t always be in our lives, but the lessons they taught us will never be forgotten.

There are some things that will forever remind us of our high school experience. Going to as many of the dances that we could, we’ll always remember seeing the transformation of the quiet student to the socialite that had been itching to come out. Whenever we’ll hear the “cha cha slide,” we’ll remember how one song can make anyone who was afraid to dance drop their fears and induce fun. We’ll remember our assemblies and the efforts that ASB put into each and every poster-only to be torn down by other students. Though, they continued to make more for each assembly. 2007 was a good year for school spirit at Savanna. Our sports have accomplished many things, encouraging school pride. We’ll remember the football games where we were all there to support our boys and bask in the bragging rights they earned against Anaheim. Also, our marching band and cheer squad would help promote school spirit in a way no one else could.

Looking back, I have noticed many changes: the shyest people broke out of their shells; followers became leaders; and the awkward became beautiful. The fads came and went. The mullet made a comeback, and so did big sunglasses. Guys even started to wear their pants properly again. People have been convinced that their vans look like sneakers. We’ve learned how to “lean back,” and only recently have we learned how to “lean like a cholo.” We’re all graduating now, but that doesn’t mean we will lose contact with each other. We’ll see each other again in ten years, and yeah, we’re all going to bring sexyback. Until then, you can always add each other on Myspace, and if you don’t know what that is; I’m pretty sure your mom has one.

Throughout our lives, we have dreamt. We’ve dreamt of what the future holds for us, and what we can do to make the future what we want it to become. The past made us who we are and it tries to predict our futures. No one can change the past, but what lies ahead isn’t set in stone; we will create new dreams and follow them. The past will always be remembered and the future is yet to come. So, all we can do is live in the present to dream about the future and remember the past. Well Rebels… This is it. This isn’t madness, and it definitely isn’t Sparta, but it is the end of this journey for us. It is now time for us to begin a new adventure. I’ll never forget you Savanna High School’s class of 2007. Don’t forget to keep in touch.

... okay. maybe it isn't AMAZING. but it's good. right? :[
