so i'm back! & it seems i have a lot to update about. this is a strictly what-i've-been-up-to entry. so, pretty boring.

well we moved house two weeks ago on friday. it all went to plan & such. the house is effing fantastic, my room is 'uge & i can walk into town in ten minutes. lots of nights out & friends over. i made a
on my wall, & stuck up all my flyers & tickets & collected stuff. lots of posters & paintings. & yum. there are three-storey's in this house, my brother & i on the first, & then mum & will on the upper floor. my kitty was bewildered to begin with but is settling in nicely.

then i went to paris avec mon pere. i went down to his house on the monday, by train via brum (where i found 'the breakfast club' on video in hmv for £4!). when i got to his house in northampton we went to see 'fahrenheit 9/11', which i thought was a really good film. my dad was crying during it & people were walking out. though possibly untrustworthy material, it's definitely a watcher. we got back & ate pizza & drank beer. & had a big tearsome heart-to-heart about family stuff, which was interesting but odd. because, urgh.. no point in discussing it.

we got up really early on tuesday morning & drove to luton airport. easyjet, baby! the flight took fifty minutes, & i went sleepies. then we got to paris, & got the fun fun metro into the city. then we did trekking with back-packs everywhere (&ohmygod this thursday song i'm listening to is amazing - 'jet black new year', anyway..). we did lunching in a little cafe in the sunny sun & i had a crepe & graced them with my tongue de la francais - "une coca s'il vous plait!". (they loved it). then we went wandering down meandering streets, in the dirty sex end of paris. we found the pompidou centre, which is closed on tuesdays. bum. so we walked to notre dame, where no quasimodo was to be found, however lots of tourists (americans are the ones with video cameras). it was effing spectacular & lots of wholesome photos were taken. next we trekked to big-church-with-nice-glass-windows-which-is-probably-world-famous-but-i-can't-remember-the-name-of. it was gorgeous, stunning, spectacular, but spoiled somewhat by the immense police presence, with huge, beasty weaponary. & metal detectors everywhere. (which is no fun for studded belt wearers). it was hot hot. then we walked places & sat on the big famous cross-roads in a cafe ("une coca s'il vous plait!"), then we did more trekking to a pretty, shady park with a steel band. we were tired & achey so went in persuit of our hotel. it was called timhotel, & had a funny lift. you could only squash two people in it max. (i watched in amazement when a severely obese lady tried to get in it, poor lass). we had seperate rooms. then we had relaxing time for an hour or so, & i managed to pick up bargain hunt. amazing! then mon pere rang my room phone & we met up. we then went to a restaurant round the corner, where i ate chicken & salad & "une coca s'il vout plait!". i think the waiter was taking the piss out of me which wasn't very nice. hah. & then we went to the eiffel tower! (now you've heard of that haven't you?). my dad was too much of a cheapskate to let us take the lift, so we climbed the stairs, all of them. lots. many. now this is where ordinary people develop a fear of heights. on the first deck, then the next deck, then you have to get a lift to the top; queueing with french teenagers eyeing me up & little american kids with chicken pox. yum. up up up. nice view of beautiful parisssss. ooh, aaah. picture taking. wowee! then we went down, down, down the stairs & which point they decided to turn the lights on & AAAH, I'M BLIND, WHERE ARE THE STAIRS?! fun fun. so we walked back to the hotel, via a little shop with a funny man in it & bought beer & french crisps & then sat in my hotel room drinking & watching french folk having drunken fights on the streets below. european fun! then we went sleepies.

the next day we got up bright & early. i dressed summery. (mr. dad: "it doesn't look like it'll be a very bright day today, sadly", mr. helen: "it's only 9 am!"). it was a hot day. HAH. we walked to a cutesy little cafe & had a proper french breakfast, with croissants, baguette, coffee, fresh orange juice & hot chocolate. gorgeous! we started walking round, looked at the embassy buildings, saw a little market, the streets named after american presidents & le musee de tokyo & modern art. closed, for une year! bums. so then we walked to le musee d'orsay & did queueing for sometime. again there was a nasty metal detector. very hot. the architecure was just amazing & we saw lots & lots & lots of paintings. for the un-clued-into-art there were monet's & whistler's mother! ooh aaah. there was a real klimt & some mackintosh furniture. ooh aaah. after we were saturated with art we went to the cafe, which was crap. no seats, ooh, so modern! then we did walking to the big massive park that stretches from somewhere famous to somewhere more famous. actually, at one end is the louvre, with the big glass pyramid & such. we didn't go in, but apparently if you were to spend one minute looking at every single piece in the louvre you'd be there for four months. crazy fools! walking walking walking, sunny sunny sunny. (i think i'm getting my days mixed up here). we left the park place & had a gander at all the crappy tourist memorablilia rubbish, & i bought a tourist-chic t-shirt. get in. then we went bag to the big park & sat under a brolly drinking ice-tea. this french man kept staring at me, which was really unnerving. agh. then we got the tube to a further part of paris (THEY HAVE DOUBLE-DECKER TUBE TRAINS!), to find this thing called the 'ding dong bazaar', but alas our tourist book was laughing at us & no such thing existed. we then returned to our hotel & did relaxing & more bargain hunt! ahah. then was meal time in a french-italian restaurant, & ate pizza & pasta & "une coca s'il vout plait!". we then walked up to the seine & went on a tourist boat trip down it, with in-boat audio telling you about all the sights to look at. wow! it was fun. my dad & i danced to the french music they played inbetween sound clips. hah. then back to the hotel with beers & crisps in hands & more of the same. yum yum. then sleepies.

next day, up again early. had a drink in a cutesy cafe, but no croissants! eeh! then we did much walking & ooh-aahing & got the metro & tube, & stuff to the pompidou centre which was now open. amazing i tell thee! lots of modern art, & controversy & wow wow wow stuff. loved that. real dali's & picasso's & performance art on video. stunning. it made me want to go home & paint. some of it was the kind of stuff where you're like "bloody 'ell, i could do that! what the 'ecks that there for?" (true brit stylee). but yeah, such great art! whee. then we went to a cafe opposite & i had a steak hache (burger) & frites (chips) & "une coca s'il vous plait!". haha. then we did postcard shopping & being tourists. sooo hot. & "dad, i know you never hear what i say & you just pretend to". too hot for tourists with luggage, so we found an air-conditioned shopping centre above the station & did shopping. i bought a pretty dress & a old-mans hat, which all came to very few pennies. yum. then we got the train/metro/tube/vehicle to the airport. easyjet, baby! hah. i went sleepies. again. then back to my dad's house for true-brit food a la fish & chips & beer. watched 'diy sos' then went sleepies.

then on friday my dad drove me home. & in the evening i met up with alice in the hop for drinkies & she spilled two pints over herself by accident. twice in a row, now that's special. so then we got bored of waiting & alice was embarassed so went to harriets in search of her & jude. then we went to the albert & consumed pints & played pool. "the police are coming, if you're under-age get out!". haha. so we went to the balti, & flirted with the waiters for free poppadoms & had a nice meal. alice stayed at mine & we watched 'the breakfast club' umm. saturday met up with friends in the day, then stayed in for the night putting up posters & sorting my room. sunday night was haydn's party. kit & i went by train. it wasn't really very good, though it was nice to see katie & haydn & such, but people just got trashed & i helped clean up sick off his parent's floor & walked in on sexing. i scarpered fastish in the morning for the train & went home to bed. then ed came round for the day. tuesday i met up with becky & we did charity shopping which saw me buying knitwear your gran would be proud of. wednesday ed came round & we went into town to the quarry & met ash & becky & folks. later drank beer with a big group. it was ash's gig at brady's with ripchord & such. lots of beer-fuelled fun & friendliness. good night. ed stayed over at mine. thuuursday, ed & i went into town & had good conversations about politics & corporatism & ate food on the steps. i bought pink flip flops from british heart foundation. i got the internet back that day so in the evening i stayed in to revel in it's glory. umm. friday, yesterday. i met ed in town for a bit & then we went to get georgia. sat in the castle, later joined by ash & his girlfriend. georgia & i decided not to go with them for the delights of indie night in oswestry, so instead we walked to the cinema & saw 'the stepford wives'. it's a crap film, don't go see it. & it's sexist. darn. after that we went to the balti where the waiter was pleased to see me "hooooow's it goiiing my old friend?!". fun. we got back & watched big brother. were woken up by silly boy ed this morning at nine thirty. we watched superted as a three. then georgia went for a bus. ed went midday-ish & i've done jack all.
