Fringe! (Cons and Pros Edition)

Apr 19, 2011 11:52

Cons:
  • "Going inside someone's mind" plots (currently of the Inception variety) are boring by now.
  • I understand that there is a very long tradition of few well-selected phrases from the Official Wise Character being enough to heal/encourage/transform Protagonists Struggling With Issues, but I would have hoped that by now this would be recognized as a cheap, ham-fisted device.

Pros:
  • I keep enjoying Anna Torv and John Noble's performances... particularly in what they don't say.
  • Speaking of which, if you don't think Walter would have been sorely tempted to pick Bell over Olivia, you don't know Walter.
  • Peter knows Walter.
  • Fringe has probably some of the best last-lines-of-episodes in current television
