I'm not quite satisfied with how I wrote this, but I like the idea.
Dream Girl couldn't follow the details of Brainy's plan -perhaps there was nobody in the universe who could- but she could see his stuttering movements and too-scared eyes, and she knew that no logical plan could come from so troubled a mind.
It had been illogical. It had been implausible. It had been desperate, emotional, irrational.
It couldn't have worked. It shouldn't have worked. Several subtle physical laws should have had delicately wrong malfunctions under limit conditions for the plan to work. The universe didn't work that way.
But the plan did.
It hadn't brought her back. She had always been there.
It just gave Brainy's mind an excuse to let itself see her.
