I actually enjoyed my first shift at wetherspoons....it went really well. got introduced to ryan chloe and josh...and theyre lovely. sam was really nice to me, she's the only one i'd met out of them all. i picked up on how to do food and drink and specials on the tills quite well :) ryan didnt believe i'd never poured a pint before, because i did a good job of it. i cant pour carlsberg right yet, but i can do everything else. i hate sambuka shots,it goes all on your hands when youre pouring them and goes sticky. i broke my key for the tills within 3hrs :S but sam got me a new one. i know how to use the washers and where all the clean glasses go. and...yey... :) i'm working saturday 6-close...i think...well sam had to change my part of the rota cuz they put me on friday, and i told them i'm not doing fridays.
this one guy came in and gave me a love heart cuz i'm new...how sweet. i also did about 1 1/2 hrs on the bar on my own whilst people took breaks and did the washers.
