Concert report! .... ah, hisashiburi desu! ^_^;

Feb 25, 2007 02:15

Oh wow, it’s been half a year or so of not posting. I wonder if people still know who I am, or wonder ‘who the hell’s that???’ when I pop up on their f-list ^^; It’s been a busy last year with basically no internet access. Yes, that’s still possible nowadays. But that doesn’t matter now. Are all of you okay?

My life here has been pretty Kanjani 8-less so far. I didn’t have much opportunities to keep on track and following what they were doing. But today, one of my dreams came true: I saw Kanjani 8’s first show @Osaka Dome! My first Kanjani 8 concert ever!!!!! So because this is so special to me, I decided to write a little report on it. It’s not very special and I know many people have been to concerts already and wrote great reports of great experience, but it was my first time, so hey ;) It might not be that great, really. I’m not good at writing reports. Haha, whatever…

So my first Kanjani 8 concert. I didn’t know about what would be going on there and the three girls I went with didn’t know either. It was all our first time. Actually besides one girl who likes Ryo, the other two weren’t really into Kanjani 8, but wanted to see a JE concert once. I was very glad to see they enjoyed the show :)
There were soooo many people. And be aware of the fact that the real concert’s date was 25th. Because so many people applied, they added to shows and Osaka Dome is the biggest concert hall in Osaka. Just to image how many people went there. Actually at the show Yoko kept saying how 40 000 people where attenting, but I don’t think it were so many. I mean, wow…. Well, however, many people!
We waited one hour for the goods. I expected it to be different tho, but it was a little like the Johnny’s shop, only waaay bigger. I bought the bag and a Suba uchiwa and the group poster. My friend bought a Maru uchiwa and gave it to me after the concert. Awwww :) I was looking around if I spotted some other foreign fans or even people from e-s I knew. But I was the only foreign fan around. I thought people would stare at me a lot (since I am blonde), but no stares AT ALL. It was soooo nice. I was just one Kanjani 8 fan among many.
So the show started at 5.30p.m with showing a very funny clip of eito dressing up as women and telling the audience what they are supposed to not do during the concert (the rules etc). Yoko wore this short blonde wig and he looked great with it. No joke, reminded me of old times, blonde Yoko *sighs* I think Yoko himself dislikes his Haiken-hair. He commented it grew a little, but he has to cut it again in two days XD
So the show started and OMG, did I say how GREAT out seats were. Before the concert we freaked, because we realized our seats were pretty close to the stage but when we couldn’t find them, we realized they were even more in front. It was so cool. So yeah, the start and there were this movable parts of the stage and at every end of the hall one eito member was presented as the stages moved up. So Hina, in all of his glory, full body, was singing 10 metres away from me. He was soooo close! I was a little disappointed because it was ‘just’ Hina. Haha, whatever.Subaru was at the center stage. He totally was the star of this concert. The first two songs where songs I didn’t know. I was like ‘f***’, I mean that was I was scared of. I basically didn’t follow Kanjani 8 much, besides watching Suka J in case I had time or didn’t forget. I mean, I have never even watched the whole Kanfuu Fighting PV, so I kind of knew there would be songs I didn’t know. The third song was Osaka Obachan Rock and then Naniwa Iroha Bushi in some remix. They sang the song two times today which I found really really cool. I mean the boys were so excited about being at Osaka Dome, Naniwa two times was kind of like… reminding everyone and themselves where they started. Then they sang Heavenly Psycho. The lights went out and you would only see the thousands of penlights of the fans at the beginning of the song. It was really beautiful.
Next where the Kanjimi 3 solos. Okura’s song (Butterfly or something) was kinda nice but then I went to the toilet ^^; So I missed Maru’s solo. Maybe Yasuda had one too, I don’t know.
I swear the show was 4 hours ago, but I don’t remember the songlist anymore. I don’t remember everything 100%. They sang Itsuka Mata, Kanfuu Fighting, Sukiyanen Osaka and the new Honjani ending song (they did the ‘rip shirt open’ thing. Subaru was at the big screen and the four of us couldn’t stop laughing. SO not sexy Subaru, oh no no no no….). There was this movable thing … like they put one guy and move him over the audience and we got Ryo. WTF, Ryo and Hina. I mean I love them but why not Suba or Maru. Or Yoko *sighs*.
Then they started their eito ranger skit. It started with the eito ranger song and lastet like half an hour or so. It was really long. It was a skit with all the Juniors and it was really really adorable. And stupid. But it was so much fun. Kanjani 8 transformed from Ranger into kindergarden kids (which was basically the start of the main plot) and they looked so mini. They looked like they have really gotten smaller, it was so weird O_O At the end, they had to change into their ranger costumes again and had to dress in a white box on stage. The cameras filmed inside and Subaru wore his boxers as if they were a thong, and showed his ass into the camera a couple of times. I swear this guys such an exhibitionist. If they would let him, he would run around naked on stage. The last scene of the skit was sooo adorable. There were 3 juniors, Kusumoto, Kamiyama *kyaaaa I just love this kid* and this 10 year old kid everyone loves so much, Jo or something, who asked eito who they are. So they were like doing their pose and saying ‘We are the eito rangers’ It was soooo priceless. Even if the rest of the sucked, I would have want to go again only to see this scene again. They sang eito ranger again and the skit ended.
Afterwards *thinks* Damn, I totally don’t remember in which order the setlist was. They sang Propellar. Then Subaru had a solo. Which was totally the highlight of the show. For me at least. It was… wow… everything was so perfect at this moment. I don’t know if it was a new song or people knew it already, but the title was ‘Everyday music’. The song is amazing. I loved the music (very brit-pop/rock-ish) and the lyrics so much. Then was Oh Enka. Or maybe it was a little sooner or later, but around that time there was Oh Enka ^^; Then Kanjani 8 held there MC (the only one) and Yoko was basically talking about when he had to take a day off because he got sick, he sent out an email in the morning to all members and how there replies where. Okura was the first to reply and Ryo didn't at all XD Subaru replied without getting an email from Yoko, because at that time Yoko didn’t know Subas adress which everyone found really interesting. Afterwards they let the Juniors introduce themselves (which was basically only B.A.D and Boys talking). Kunta grew up so much, he’s very handsome now. Everyone in our section was like ‘kawaii’ when he talked. His voice matured a lot. Hina was like ‘your voice is like the one of an old guy but you are still in Boys’ :) They announced they are having a Kansai Jrs concert at Joo hall on May 5th. I think if people like the Kansai Jrs, they should definitely try to go to support them. I didn’t find them so great today. I liked one of their songs which went like ‘Ossan, ossan, ossan, ossan’ though XD Apparently there’s a new unit called ossan now. See I don’t know anything.
Afterwards there was Subaru Band with a new song and Yoko’s solo. During Yoko’s solo, there was a VTR in which Yoko was dressed like in Haiken, and Nino appeared too. Everyone freaked out ;) Yoko’s was the last solo of the concert. Sadly they didn’t play ‘Tabibito’ which is my favourite song, but around this time they played ‘Do you agree?’ which was my second highlight. It’s such a powerful song. During the song, they were runnign around and Yoko went to the handicapped section and shook peoples hands. It was very sweet I thought. It was around the time when they sang Naniwa for the second time (the normal version) and everyone was ‘Huh, again’ but it was really cool. They then played Osaka Rainy Blues and Misete Kure and Osaka Romanesque. At some point Maru was at this movable stage 10 metres in front of me. As much as I’d love to brag about what hot eye sex I had with maru, I have to say there was no such moment. >_< Sadly, as Maru looked really handsome :( They ended the concert with a song I didn’t know and then there was the ‘Arigatoooo’ and ‘goodbye’ (and Suba was like ‘See you tomorrow’ XDDD), but they of course came back for a three song encore. The first encore was Samurai Blues, then they sang ‘Mugendai’ and with ‘Kanfuu Fighting’, they ended the concert. During the last two songs, they were going around and threw those signed cards into the crowd (one of Yasu’s landed three rows behind us and people were KILLING each other O_o) All of eito was passing by in front of us one more time and winked in our direction. It was such a cool end.
The whole show was three hours, but it felt like half of the time to me. It’s so amazing, I’ve been to a lot of concerts in my life and usually western bands play for abt 90 min and then they are off. It’s true JE tickets *are* expensive, but come one, 3 hours!!!

So this was the concert basically. I’m sorry I didn’t write more detailed. I swear I have such a bad memory. I remember many small details of the show, but the songlist etc, no way ^^;;;
About eito themselves… as exciting as it was to see them for the first time in rl without screen and also so freaking close (thanks to the great seats), I gotta say some of them looked so …. Normal. Sometimes when a lot of Juniors were around and eitos costumes weren’t outstanding, it was hard to tell who were K8 and who not. I had to point out who was from K8 for my friends a couple of times XD There were only three people who really caught my attention: Yasuda, because he was always smiling and full of power and he was sooooo adorable. Then Yoko, who is such an entertainer. Hands down he was the funniest and it was just great watching him being the center of attention during the MC and some songs. He ruled the show. No wait, he didn’t, it was Subaru. And I don’t think I am a biased Subaru fan when I say it now but this guy is amazing. He was the star and everyone knew it. During the MC, he wouldn’t really talk but space out, but it didn’t matter because when it was his turn to sing, he was giving 1000 percent. This guy has such an aura, it’s amazing. I seriously believe if there wouldn’t be Subaru, there wouldn’t be Kanjani 8.
Ryo, I didn’t like his voice so much today. But he was adorable during the skit and all together he was great too. Not outstanding though. Maybe it was just today. Same went for Hina and Okura. I just didn’t find them soooo special. What I remember the most about Hina was how freaking proud he was to be at Osaka Dome. That alone was really nice though.
Okura, I kept thinking he looked a lot like Kame. And before I get everyone mad at me now, it was his hairstyle. Only his hairstyle!! Maru was very funny. I love this guy. Plus he is soooo god looking, for me, he’s really the best one looking in Kanjani 8. It was so cool when he played the guitar in front of us. I remember how I always used to have a crush on maru playing the guitar when I saw the concert DVDs. Now having him play it right in front of you, it was very very special ^___^

Btw, at the end of the concert, eito were thanking the audience and Yoko was like ‘Thank you so much! We truly love Osaka!’

Yaaaaay! ^_^
