I just want to be free!
I've been trying to get DJ to go to the Apollo nude beach with me - up until a week ago, he had been acting like he was willing to go. Then randomly during a *ahem* heated discussion he bursts out with, "Call me a prude if you will!" and tells me he never did and never will want to go. It was a strange moment for him to declare this... but if that's the way he feels about it, I'm not going to push the issue.
Yesterday, I brought the subject up again - not the him going with me part, just my desire to go to a naturalist beach. I asked if he'd mind if I went there alone. No problems there. I asked if he'd mind if I went there with friends. He said no problem... as long as they're female. I understand his view, but the one person who has ever sounded excited about the prospect is Will. It makes me very sad that I can't go to this beach with my boyfriend (because he doesn't want to) or my best friend (because my boyfriend would be pissed).
At the end of this particular conversation, DJ implied he might be swayed, in time, to go to the Apollo Beach with me by volunteering, "Lets start out with the regular beach first." I hadn't even mentioned his going to the beach with me at all - after a month or two of asking, I just figured the beach - clothes or no clothes - was out of the question with him. It made me happy to hear that he's willing to go to the beach with me, even if it's not something he would do on his own. Maybe one of these days, we actually will go together... if I can ever pry him away from his booze and computer.
It still leaves me with no beach buddy for the nude beach, though. :(
