I flirted with vegetarianism for years, but finally committed to a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet two months ago. It wasn't a difficult transition since I didn't consume much meat to begin with. My favorite vegetarian staple is the portobello mushroom.
The first question I get asked is always why? I'm not morally motivated-knowing that I'm not supporting the meat industry is more of a bonus. I do it primarily as an investment in my health. Since becoming vegetarian I've found that I have more energy, and I just feel better. I've even turned into a morning person, which is amazing in itself. At least for now, I'm only interested in following a vegetarian diet and not a vegetarian lifestyle.
