lost and unfound

Aug 07, 2006 00:24

a woman who has
ten coins and loses one
sweeps,
dusts,
searches
until it is found.

however, when the son has no desire
to see his father's face
to return,
forgive,
reunite,
what is the gardener to do
but cut it off?

she despairs and cries out
desperate to retrieve
what has slipped
away

he paces at night
worried and afriad
as sleep steals away

he removes the dead branches
that abrupted thier growth
with no desire
to be restored

what is the loss of a life?
a removal to eternities of never endings
what of the loss of a soul?
the saddest trajedy mankind can know
albeit the loss of a friend?
a tiny sliver of heart
now space
which never knows
how to replace
the steady beating
ne'er erased

still longs to hold

your strong embrace
