Comic

I'd like to make a comic. One page at minimum, three at maximum, telling a story about my neo-Victorian fairy naturalist whose name has permanently escaped me. It was Charlotte...Belinda...no Belinda is for my moth girl...damn.

The issue is that anything other than drawing a girl makes me distinctly nervous. I also need to decide on a "look" for her--the world she is in borrows heavily from the Victorian age, but like the comic Phoenix Requiem also has its own unique fashion sense. Too many stories are set in the Victorian age, and way too many seem to have main characters from the working or upper class, which is interesting considering the fact that the middle class was the one that was growing more and more with each year. I also like the early nineteenth century, with its simple silhouettes and a visually elegant figure that contrasted dramatically with the eighteenth century.

First though I have to script out the pages, then do thumbnails, and then draw the damned things, which is why I'd love to do it in a strip format.

But yeah.

Things!

Two more things:
  1.) SNOW outside!
2.) It's silly when I fall asleep, think of an outfit, pose, and so on, and then am able to go "oh yeah that color could tie the two characters together!" when I'm thinking properly.

the story's the thing, art for art's sake
