Familiarity can dull our appreciation. As Christians we worship Jesus and give Him thanks for our Salvation, as we should. We see Jesus doing the will of The Father and tend to view Him as subservient to God; Son Of God, a separate being from God, less than God, but Jesus is God!
In the creation phase Jesus and God are the same, there is a point where Jesus becomes the Begotten Son of God, our Kinsmen Redeemer where He takes on flesh and later God restores Jesus and gives Him back all power and authority.
Power and authority is what makes and allows God to do as He pleases and Jesus has all of it!
There are many monikers, names and titles that the Creator uses, when and how He pleases. I usually use the generic term “God”, but be assured no matter which name we use i.e. Son of God, Jehovah, The Almighty, I AM, Jesus or any other of His names, they all refer to the One who loves and Saves us.
Here are a few examples of who Jesus is:
• Jesus says He and God are One and He backed it up with good works
John 10:25. Jesus answered them, 'I told you, and ye do not believe; the works that I do in the name of my Father, these testify concerning me;
26. but ye do not believe, for ye are not of my sheep,
27. according as I said to you: My sheep my voice do hear, and I know them, and they follow me,
28. and life age-during I give to them, and they shall not perish - to the age, and no one shall pluck them out of my hand;
29. my Father, who hath given to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck out of the hand of my Father;
30. I and the Father are one.'
31. Therefore, again, did the Jews take up stones that they may stone him;
32. Jesus answered them, 'Many good works did I shew you from my Father; because of which work of them do ye stone me?'
33. The Jews answered him, saying, 'For a good work we do not stone thee, but for evil speaking, and because thou, being a man, dost make thyself God.'
34. Jesus answered them, 'Is it not having been written in your law: I said, ye are gods?
35. if them he did call gods unto whom the word of God came, (and the Writing is not able to be broken,)
36. of him whom the Father did sanctify, and send to the world, do ye say - Thou speakest evil, because I said, Son of God I am?
37. if I do not the works of my Father, do not believe me;
38. and if I do, even if me ye may not believe, the works believe, that ye may know and may believe that in me [is] the Father, and I in Him.'

• Peter calls Jesus the Spirit of Jehovah
Isaiah 40:6. A voice is saying, 'Call,' And he said, 'What do I call?' All flesh [is] grass, and all its goodliness [is] As a flower of the field:

8. Withered hath grass, faded the flower, But a word of our God riseth for ever.
1 Peter 1: 18. having known that, not with corruptible things - silver or gold - were ye redeemed from your foolish behaviour delivered by fathers,

20. foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, and manifested in the last times because of you,
21. who through him do believe in God, who did raise out of the dead, and glory to him did give, so that your faith and hope may be in God.
22. Your souls having purified in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to brotherly love unfeigned, out of a pure heart one another love ye earnestly,
23. being begotten again, not out of seed corruptible, but incorruptible, through a word of God - living and remaining - to the age;
24. because all flesh [is] as grass, and all glory of man as flower of grass; wither did the grass, and the flower of it fell away,

4. Multiplied are their griefs, [Who] have hastened backward; I pour not out their libations of blood, Nor do I take up their names on my lips.
5. Jehovah [is] the portion of my share, and of my cup, Thou - Thou dost uphold my lot.
6. Lines have fallen to me in pleasant places, Yea, a beauteous inheritance [is] for me.
7. I bless Jehovah who hath counselled me; Also [in] the nights my reins instruct me.
8. I did place Jehovah before me continually, Because - at my right hand I am not moved.
9. Therefore hath my heart been glad, And my honour doth rejoice, Also my flesh dwelleth confidently:
10. For Thou dost not leave my soul to Sheol, Nor givest thy saintly one to see corruption.
11. Thou causest me to know the path of life; Fulness of joys [is] with Thy presence, Pleasant things by Thy right hand for ever!
Acts 2: 14. and Peter having stood up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and declared to them, 'Men, Jews! and all those dwelling in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and harken to my sayings,
15. for these are not drunken, as ye take it up, for it is the third hour of the day.
16. 'But this is that which hath been spoken through the prophet Joel:
17. And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;
18. and also upon My men-servants, and upon My maid-servants, in those days, I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy;
19. and I will give wonders in the heaven above, and signs upon the earth beneath - blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke,

21. and it shall be, every one - whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, he shall be saved.
22. 'Men, Israelites! hear these words, Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God among you by mighty works, and wonders, and signs, that God did through him in the midst of you, according as also ye yourselves have known;
23. this one, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, being given out, having taken by lawless hands, having crucified - ye did slay;
24. whom God did raise up, having loosed the pains of the death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it,
25. for David saith in regard to him: I foresaw the Lord always before me - because He is on my right hand - that I may not be moved;
26. because of this was my heart cheered, and my tongue was glad, and yet - my flesh also shall rest on hope,
27. because Thou wilt not leave my soul to hades, nor wilt Thou give Thy Kind One to see corruption;
28. Thou didst make known to me ways of life, Thou shalt fill me with joy with Thy countenance.
29. 'Men, brethren! it is permitted to speak with freedom unto you concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us unto this day;
30. a prophet, therefore, being, and knowing that with an oath God did swear to him, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit upon his throne,
31. having foreseen, he did speak concerning the rising again of the Christ, that his soul was not left to hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.
32. 'This Jesus did God raise up, of which we are all witnesses;
33. at the right hand then of God having been exalted - also the promise of the Holy Spirit having received from the Father - he was shedding forth this, which now ye see and hear;
34. for David did not go up to the heavens, and he saith himself: The Lord saith to my lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
35. till I make thy foes thy footstool;
36. assuredly, therefore, let all the house of Israel know, that both Lord and Christ did God make him - this Jesus whom ye did crucify.'
37. And having heard, they were pricked to the heart; they say also to Peter, and to the rest of the apostles, 'What shall we do, men, brethren?'
38. and Peter said unto them, 'Reform, and be baptized each of you on the name of Jesus Christ, to remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,
39. for to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.'
• John said Jesus was God and then He became flesh; the begotten Son Of God
Genesis 1:1. In the beginning of God's preparing the heavens and the earth -
2. the earth hath existed waste and void, and darkness [is] on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God fluttering on the face of the waters,
3. and God saith, 'Let light be;' and light is.
4. And God seeth the light that [it is] good, and God separateth between the light and the darkness,
5. and God calleth to the light 'Day,' and to the darkness He hath called 'Night;' and there is an evening, and there is a morning - day one….
24. And God saith, 'Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind:' and it is so.
25. And God maketh the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, and God seeth that [it is] good.
26. And God saith, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over fish of the sea, and over fowl of the heavens, and over cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that is creeping on the earth.'
27. And God prepareth the man in His image; in the image of God He prepared him, a male and a female He prepared them.
28. And God blesseth them, and God saith to them, 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over fish of the sea, and over fowl of the heavens, and over every living thing that is creeping upon the earth.'
John 1:1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;
2. this one was in the beginning with God;
3. all things through him did happen, and without him happened not even one thing that hath happened.
4. In him was life, and the life was the light of men,
5. and the light in the darkness did shine, and the darkness did not perceive it.
6. There came a man - having been sent from God - whose name [is] John,
7. this one came for testimony, that he might testify about the Light, that all might believe through him;
8. that one was not the Light, but - that he might testify about the Light.
9. He was the true Light, which doth enlighten every man, coming to the world;
10. in the world he was, and the world through him was made, and the world did not know him:
11. to his own things he came, and his own people did not receive him;
12. but as many as did receive him to them he gave authority to become sons of God - to those believing in his name,
13. who - not of blood nor of a will of flesh, nor of a will of man but - of God were begotten.
14. And the Word became flesh, and did tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, glory as of an only begotten of a father, full of grace and truth.
15. John doth testify concerning him, and hath cried, saying, 'This was he of whom I said, He who after me is coming, hath come before me, for he was before me;'
16. and out of his fulness did we all receive, and grace over-against grace;
17. for the law through Moses was given, the grace and the truth through Jesus Christ did come;
18. God no one hath ever seen; the only begotten Son, who is on the bosom of the Father - he did declare.
• Thomas calls Jesus The Lord and God
John 20:26. And after eight days, again were his disciples within, and Thomas with them; Jesus cometh, the doors having been shut, and he stood in the midst, and said, 'Peace to you!'
27. then he saith to Thomas, 'Bring thy finger hither, and see my hands, and bring thy hand, and put [it] to my side, and become not unbelieving, but believing.'
28. And Thomas answered and said to him, 'My Lord and my God;'
29. Jesus saith to him, 'Because thou hast seen me, Thomas, thou hast believed; happy those not having seen, and having believed.'
30. Many indeed, therefore, other signs also did Jesus before his disciples, that are not written in this book;
31. and these have been written that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life in his name.' Acts 20:28 'Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit made you overseers, to feed the assembly of God that He acquired through His own blood,
• John says that Jesus is The True God
1 John 5: 18. We have known that every one who hath been begotten of God doth not sin, but he who was begotten of God doth keep himself, and the evil one doth not touch him;
19. we have known that of God we are, and the whole world in the evil doth lie;
20. and we have known that the Son of God is come, and hath given us a mind, that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ; this one is the true God and the life age-during!
21. Little children, guard yourselves from the idols! Amen.
• Paul says Jesus was in the form of God
Philippians 2: 1. If, then, any exhortation [is] in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2. fulfil ye my joy, that ye may mind the same thing - having the same love - of one soul - minding the one thing,
3. nothing in rivalry or vain-glory, but in humility of mind one another counting more excellent than yourselves -
4. each not to your own look ye, but each also to the things of others.
5. For, let this mind be in you that [is] also in Christ Jesus,
6. who, being in the form of God, thought [it] not robbery to be equal to God,
7. but did empty himself, the form of a servant having taken, in the likeness of men having been made,
8. and in fashion having been found as a man, he humbled himself, having become obedient unto death - death even of a cross,
9. wherefore, also, God did highly exalt him, and gave to him a name that [is] above every name,
10. that in the name of Jesus every knee may bow - of heavenlies, and earthlies, and what are under the earth -
11. and every tongue may confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
• Paul says Jesus is the Creator and the image of the invisible God
Colossians 1: 12. Giving thanks to the Father who did make us meet for the participation of the inheritance of the saints in the light,
13. who did rescue us out of the authority of the darkness, and did translate [us] into the reign of the Son of His love,
14. in whom we have the redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of the sins,
15. who is the image of the invisible God, first-born of all creation,
16. because in him were the all things created, those in the heavens, and those upon the earth, those visible, and those invisible, whether thrones, whether lordships, whether principalities, whether authorities; all things through him, and for him, have been created,
17. and himself is before all, and the all things in him have consisted.
18. And himself is the head of the body - the assembly - who is a beginning, a first-born out of the dead, that he might become in all [things] - himself - first,
19. because in him it did please all the fulness to tabernacle,
20. and through him to reconcile the all things to himself - having made peace through the blood of his cross - through him, whether the things upon the earth, whether the things in the heavens.
21. And you - once being alienated, and enemies in the mind, in the evil works, yet now did he reconcile,
22. in the body of his flesh through the death, to present you holy, and unblemished, and unblameable before himself,
23. if also ye remain in the faith, being founded and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the good news, which ye heard, which was preached in all the creation that [is] under the heaven, of which I became - I Paul - a ministrant.
24. I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and do fill up the things lacking of the tribulations of the Christ in my flesh for his body, which is the assembly,
25. of which I - I did become a ministrant according to the dispensation of God, that was given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God,
26. the secret that hath been hid from the ages and from the generations, but now was manifested to his saints,
27. to whom God did will to make known what [is] the riches of the glory of this secret among the nations - which is Christ in you, the hope of the glory,
28. whom we proclaim, warning every man, and teaching every man, in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus,
29. for which also I labour, striving according to his working that is working in me in power.
Colossians 2:6. as, then, ye did receive Christ Jesus the Lord, in him walk ye,
7. being rooted and built up in him, and confirmed in the faith, as ye were taught - abounding in it in thanksgiving.
8. See that no one shall be carrying you away as spoil through the philosophy and vain deceit, according to the deliverance of men, according to the rudiments of the world, and not according to Christ,
9. because in him doth tabernacle all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,
10. and ye are in him made full, who is the head of all principality and authority,
11. in whom also ye were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh in the circumcision of the Christ,
• Isaiah prophases that Jesus will be a Mighty God, Father of Eternity
Isaiah 9: 6. For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
7. To the increase of the princely power, And of peace, there is no end, On the throne of David, and on his kingdom, To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness, Henceforth, even unto the age, The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts doth this.
