Facebook is where the people from Myspace ran to when Myspace got a bit "ghetto". By "ghetto" i mean, kids with blinkiez and sTicKy cAps, that arent ashamed to promote clubs and post pictures of their bo0obz. Myspace, now, is a bit juvenile compared to what Facebook has become. Facebook, is like middle class, for the online community. There aren't bright colored fonts with even brighter backgrounds here. Everything is plain, kind of like the suburbs. That is why I like Facebook. Its easier to keep track of your 'REAL' friends as compared to the internet whoring Myspace promotes. On Myspace I have about 500 or 700 friends. Thats including all the bands Ive supported and Magazines, whatever! On Facebook, I have around 200 which resembles the amount of what I actually have.
Facebook itself is pretty smart. I just read an article about what they are going to do with the facebook pages of the deceased. That would be the last on my mind, but yes, the creators thought of what they would do. So you could only imagine the type of thought that goes into this website. What really annoys me the most though, is the friend suggestions. The friend suggestions reside on the top right corner. It tells you WHO YOU MAY KNOW, and most of these people...I do know. But do they know me? Ive been to high school with some of these people for years, or they may be a friend of my sisters, or a friend of a friend, but just because theyre sitting there waiting for me to click ADD AS FRIEND, doesnt mean I have to add them. So they wait there. For days. If I dont want to be their friend, I simply click the X button. then, a sigh of relief comes because Im glad I got rid of them. I dont have to see their picture or their (FIRST MIDDLE LAST) name anymore. Then they come back. These people really do annoy the fuck out of me, and its not just them. Its the fact that I keep getting suggested to be their friend. Lately, Ive gotten tons of random ass adds from people who I hardly know. Sure, I recognize their faces, but I dont actually know them. Never did I once exchange words with this person who I went to high school with and have 50 friends in common. Im not even sure if this person knows that I exist. Does my face and my (FIRST MIDDLE LAST) name pop up on their page as well? Do I annoy them as much as they annoy me? Well honestly, maybe it did, because maybe thats why they added me. Ive asked a couple of people why they added me and how they know me and theyre excuse is, "Oh I thought you looked familiar. Did we go to high school together?" The answer is, yes for a year, and yes i knew that right off the bat, but the answer I give back is, "NOT SURE, WHERE DID YOU GO?" and then we go on from there. Plus one friend for me and possibly an awkward situation if i ever do run into this person. Facebook will turn into what Myspace is soon. I am waiting for it.
