COMPETITION!!
ISD IS GOING TO NATIONALS!!
Almost all of our dances made it. Yesterday was so amazing. I woke up at 7 am so I didnt miss any of the dances from our studio. We started off the show with Shackles, which ended up with first place. I didnt go on until 1, but I had fun just watching everyone. The minis kicked ass with Chaplins Rag!! Tbey got first, and got the highest score at the first Awards Session. Jennifer Hogan got second for Heaven Hop (no fair) but got another award for best costume. Blah blah, we kicked ass, and kicked ass some more... Then it was a break and after the break we started with the drumline one. I had such an adrenaline rush, it was so fun. My russian over Jen was perfect and everyone applauded... it was fun because everyone thought the dance was over every once in awhile because of the pauses and then it just kept going. Renee cried because we did so perfect... that ended up with the high score at the end of the night. Make a long story short, 6/7 of my dances are going to nationals. We got shocked with a few results, getting first when we thought for sure we wouldnt get anything. Im really upset that my duet didnt get 2nd or 3rd. Whateverrr. And Coffee in a Cardboard Cup got robbed out of first... We had people in giant coffe cup, tea cup, and sandwhich costumes and a huge set that Regina painted and we got second to a bunch of people with towels on their heads. We actually got told by other studios that we deserved first. BUT we're still taking it to Nationals. YESSSS... right now I can only think of 3 out of 40 dances that didnt make it.
Today was the workshops. They were so fun, but so tiring. By the end of the last class I could barely dance anymore. But then again, after dancing for 7 hours what do you expect? We did a lot of classes... jazz technique, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, modern, tap and another jazz. I didnt think I would do good at all compared to all the other people in the class, but I did awesome. I had so much fun hanging out with everybody last night and today (mainly: Lyndsey, Caitlyn, Jonathon, Regina, Jen, Christine, and Aislyn... and Brett and Colin at the awards)Im such a happy kid right now!!!!
