marketing!
My resume was just sent off to Proctor & Gamble. Seriously, this is my dream job/internship. I can't think of anywhere I would rather work. Colgate-Palmolive would be okay too, Johnson & Johnson also, and I'm sure I could name many more consumer product distributors that would be great. I'm preparing myself to not be let down if I don't get it. I spent some time yesterday looking for something else to do during the summer. I just know that I can't go back to the camp, I need something real. I really need to join the American Marketing Association.

Today I had Marketing Research, Sales, and Buyer Behvaior. I have all three of those class with about 5 people. I met one of the girls, Lauren, and she's really nice. I have Dr. Motes for Marketing research and buyer behavior. I have a feeling I will really like him but GOD the higher pitched "uh"s at the end of EVERYTHING that he says is going to get on my last nerve. He was really annoying today. He would call out Lauren and I randomly during both classes. Marketing research only has 24 people in it. Only 18 showed up today, making it my smallest class in college so far. He's sort of odd though. Today he went on and on about losing the roles of teacher and student and how its good to be open minded and he'll never try and change our minds about anything, and he said "there will be drama and suffering in this class." We havea serious semester long research project that we have to work on with 3 other people. Its probably going to be really stressful.
I have Joe Calamusa for Sales and he's amazing. He briefly shit talked Fox news today. He asked us to call him Joe and told us that he doesn't have a PhD, he's just a normal guy that's in the business and chose to teach a couple of classes. Ps, he's hot, making him my first hot male teacher at UA and he's a great dresser. He made everyone in the class introduce themselves and say where they were from, what year they are, or what they want to do in life. Obviously I said "I'm Christina Martin, I'm from Birmingham, I'm a junior marketing major and I want to work for Proctor and Gamble." He referred to me as Proctor & Gamble for the rest of the class, it was awesome. One girl introduced herself and as the future CEO of GAP. The class feels so laid back. We have to shadow a sales person on a sales call. That should be cool, I'm going to call Eric and see who I can shadow from Coca-Cola. Every class at the beginning 2 people will give a one minute oral presentation on a topic he chooses. The two topics for the next class are summarize the primaries so far and then your dream job. He chose an LSU fan for the primary one and me for the dream job. I was really happy I got that one because I'm getting it over with and it should be an easy topic for me. Proctor and Gamble, brand or product manager, discuss what the job entails. done!
I'm really excited about Buyer Behavior. We're focusing mainly on consumer products which is my concentration so I'm going to be really into it.
I want to try some Pete's Wiked Ale. I'm waiting on Haley to get home from work and Mary to finish cleaning. I don't have class tomorrow and I took a 3 hour nap so its going to be a while before I go to bed. I do have a meeting with an advisor tomorrow about internships. I think I'm going to print out calendars and set up my folders for the semester. I finally get to hang out on a Thursday night though!
edit: IAN IS COMING TO TUSCALOOSA!!!!!!! fuck yes. god this semester is starting out SO well!
