Superman Returns: A 3D IMAX Expierance

First off i would like to tell EVERYONE dont even bother paying the extra skrill to see it in 3d imax only 4 sequences which totaled about 10 Minutes out of the 2 hour 45 minute movie was in 3D... also its not presented in FULL IMAX there is a bar at the top and bottom. Unlike V is For Vendetta and Harry Potter. very gay. NOW onto the actual movie...

I really liked it alot. It was as they have said in the press very faithfull to the orginal Christopher Reeves films. The plot even felt like it might have been lifted from a 1970's superman film if they had the ability to do the affects required. This is both a plus and a minus. While the classic storyline style is well... classic... its also a little long winded. The action sequences were pretty great. Most notably was a sequence where superman stops a crashing plane, which was met with vigorous applause.

Parker Posey and Sam Huntington provided EXCELLENT comedic relief. I wish they had given Jimmy Olson more to do, cause he was great. Kevin Spacey is both hilarious and despicable. Brandon Routh is very very charming, attractive and his perforamnce is almost a Christopher Reeves impression. IF i had anythign negative to say about his performance its that he is a little wooden. Kate Bosworth who was the most troubling of the casting choices in my mind, is definatly no Margo Kidder but her interpetation works surpisngly well. And her and Brandon did have a good chemistry.

All in all much like the city of metropolis i would say i am more than happy to see Superman finally return in a world when we need heros more than ever.
