I should start looking for a new job. I'm currently working two: dish washing and dog washing. The dog washing I actually don't mind really. I enjoy working with dogs and washing them isn't that bad--some are more of a pain to wash than others but overall it's alright. But washing dishes I can't stand. I love the people I work with, they're all nice, cool, and overall friendly. But it's the dishwashing itself that drives me insane. It sounds like an easy enough job since all you really do is rinse off dishes, stick them through a washer, and dry them off but it doesn't take long for it to become a stressful job. Especially when you work in a restaurant that gets as busy as mine. It doesn't help that most of the wait staff never picks up the clean plates, so they start piling up, and many times they don't clear their plates of food because they're "too busy" even though it takes them two fucking seconds so then I have to grab the plate, walk to the garbage, and scrape off the food. It's gotten to the point where I have to keep a small trash by me just in case. I also only work there two days a week (typically it's the same with the dog groomer too) so I should find something to do with myself the rest of the week rather than sit home playing video games.
Not to mention I still have to figure out where I'm going for school but every school I've looked at so far I haven't been feeling. Sometimes I feel like skipping school all together, doing what I can with my Associate's Degree, and getting a cheap apartment somewhere and trying to talk my friends into moving in with me. But then I sometimes think not going back to school could be a big mistake. Gee, life is confusing.
RESIDENT EVIL 4 - GC/PS2/WII - 2005
RESIDENT EVIL FOOOOOOOOOOUR. While I will always love the past Resident Evil games (the remake of the original still stands as my favorite in the series) there is no denying that RE4 is an absolutely brilliant game from start to finish. Everything about it just works so well. The controls, the action, the over-the-shoulder camera--it even popularized quick time events (which may or may not be a good thing)! It was a departure from what Resident Evil fans were used and while many still have a problem with that you have to admit it was nice to see all the positive feedback, reviews, and awards that RE4 was given. It also served as inspiration to several games including Batman: Arkham Asylum, another contender for "best gameplay", and Dead Space, one of the best horror games I've played in years. RE4 was also ported over to the Wii a couple years back and while it was still the same game with motion controls I would venture to say that the Wii version of RE4 is the definitive version. The controls work so unbelievably well that you could have sworn the game was made for the Wii.
That being said, I'm really hoping Resident Evil goes back to its horror roots. RE5 was great and all (and Wesker is a badass) but was even a further departure from the horror element of Resident Evil being set during the day, the non-stop action, and having a co-op partner by your side. They should take a look at Dead Space and try applying that into Resident Evil. Though after the RE5 DLC of Lost in Nightmares and the upcoming 3DS game Revelations promising to be more horror based I like to think Resident Evil's future is bright.
