Last night was fun.
Spent it with my dad's side of the family. We sat around and talked until supper. After supper we opened our gifts. Then the best part came. My cousin Sean from Edmonton phoned. He talked to every single person that was there. I see him like every 5 years on average, and Christmas is the only time we actually get to talk. And he is my favourite cousin, and it makes me so sad that he had to move to Edmonton. Then later my aunt (Angie) and uncle (Ken) phoned and talked to everyone. They are my fav aunt and uncle and I was so sad when they moved two years ago to Ontario. I've seen them once since those two years :(. My other aunt and uncle didn't get a chance to phone :(. It would have been perfect if all of my family on my dad's side still lived in Winnipeg, we all get along so well (except for grandpa), but I just have to remember the good times.
After everyone had a chance to talk on the phone we all sat around and played cards. Every time we go to my grandparents' house, we play cards. That's where we all bond and get closer as a family. I love it. We played until 11:30pm (usually its MUCH later) but my mom and brother had to work at 7am and they would only get 5 hours of sleep. So we had our tea, cheese, bread, and shrimp before we left. That's another thing we do every time we go over. Before we leave, we have a small snack, no matter how late it is.
I'm really glad we found time to get together, that's the only reason I love the holidays so much. It doesn't matter about the gifts, as long as I see my relatives and we keep our traditions alive, that's all that really matters.
Anyways my gifts:
-$15 certificate for bnts, two chicken soup books, and chocolate (grandparents)
-necklace (Ken and Angie -sent in mail)
-$10 (Cal and Brenda -mail)
