so in the boredom that is generated by
working at steve wygoda architects,
i research everything in the world
and i was just looking up things about my
grandma's town in ireland and i realized
that i really miss her a lot.
more than i miss her, i miss things about her.
like the fact that no one will ever pronounce my name
the way that she did ever again (it was weird,
she made it sound more like gaitey than katie)
or the smell of her house
or the way she made tea so that when you put a spoon in it,
saturated sugar would coat each spoonful.
we used to fax her all the time, but then we stopped
and i regret being so lazy because
dead people don't have fax machines.
