There are things that must be said that I cannot say elsewhere.
Mr. Willis is the greatest teacher I have ever had. He is the one teacher at Southridge who treats his students as not his students, but as adults and friends and colleagues. He is the most wise and intelligent teacher I have learned from in an academic setting.
Ms. Gordon, you disgust me. You disgust me, for bringing this man to his breaking point. For perpetuating false allegations, following a play you deemed as inappropriate, "The Laramie Project", and using this controversy as a catalyst toward further investigation into Mr. Willis. Whatever occured, whatever was quote unquote "found", Mr. Willis has kept his integrity. And that's something bigger than you.
Our theatre department is bigger than you.
As he said tonight, tearfully, regretfully, after announcing his resignation, (it is so weird to write that):
"We still have our canvas. That is something that cannot be taken away."
And it won't be.
