Quite good, and definitely many steps up from any previous movie effort. Casting overall was excellent, especially Christian Bale, Gary Oldman as a beaten down later era Gordon, Liam Neeson as "Ducard" and Cillian Murphy in a dead-on portrayal of Dr. Crane.
The filming was beautiful. The costume was very stylish, and thankfully, had no corny nipples on it. The plot took some liberties I didn't care for: young Bruce is a contributing factor in his parent's death; young adult Bruce is depicted as aimlessly wandering aorund the criminal element, rather than training in specific areas; Wayne Manor gets destroyed and there is a teaser at the end that would not line up at all with the villian's origins. It also took some liberties I enjoyed, especially Christian Bale playing playboy Bruce Wayne as an out and out asshole, rather than simply playing dumb.
My biggest beef with the film - yet again, Bruce shares his real identity too casually with the female character.
Despite that, a great film and well worth seeing. Batfans will find more than enough positives to outweigh the annoyances, especially given how much it outshines the failures foisted upon us previously.
