The N Word
Okay, newsflash everyone.. I am black!! (or at least that's what my parent's tell me to say) I may not be the standard stereotype of black but check the skin, I don't go tanning! Get over it already! I might make fun of the many white tendencies that I have, but that's a personal thing. It gets a little old from some people, especially people I'm not particularly close to (Phillup)..
So I don't use the N word. It doesn't mean I'm uncomfortable with, though. It's just a word. I'm sick of people being afraid to use it around me, especially when I've heard them use it around other people! I'm not offended it by it. Well, I lie. Actually, I am. But it all depends on the context of the word and I prefer not to go into detail. I'm also sick of extensions of the word in the wrong context like nig, negro, nukka, etc. Err!! Mandy, I'm sorry but I prefer you just say BLACK!
I'm sick of people talking to me about black people like I'm not black!! I'm not completely fine with you telling me the secret that you're afraid of black people walking down the street. If you saw my brother walking down the street would that scare you too? You racist @*!#$%!! I am offended to no end! Be afraid of someone walking down the street because they're a stranger and in today's society you can't allow yourself to drop your guard. But don't assume that every black man walking down the street is ready and willing to shoot anyone who looks at him the wrong way. Don't tell me you can't date a black person because you "just can't do it.. I mean I can be friends with them but dating is just another story" What in God's name am I supposed to say to that?! If your prejudiced ways allow you to be friends with me but not open your mind to dating out of your race, either keep it to yourself, or don't associate with me. Don't be fake! I could add a few names to that example, but they're close friends so I'd rather not..
So if I lose some friends over this, so be it! If you're a racist, I don't want you to be my friend anyway! This has turned into a mild rant, but I've been keeping that in for about 2 years now. You all know I'm too nice to say anything in person, so I hope this changes the way some people think about me..
