I approached him during tenth period (an off period for him) in order to get my theatre permission slip signed. This is what transpired:
Alex *Knocking on doorframe*: hey, mr. duncan? (he turns around) um, if you're not busy right now, i need you to sign this.
Neil (seriously. almost dramatically): How does it feel to need?
Alex (confused): ...excuse me?
Neil: How does it feel, to need?
Alex: I don't think I understand, sir.
Neil: Do you really NEED me to sign this? Or do you just WANT it signed?
Alex: Oohh. yeah. Um, could you please sign this for me?
Neil: I don't think you really understand the concept of need.
Alex: ...
Neil: Why don't you ponder that one.
Alex: ... yes. Have a nice day.
