Pretty Little Liars' Brendan Robinson: 'Pretty significant cliffhanger' for Lucas and Hanna

Jul 28, 2010 02:30

"Pretty Little Liars" newcomer Brendan Robinson has high hopes for his character Lucas becoming romantically involved with Hanna (Ashley Benson).

"With every episode, it draws closer and closer to that. There's some chemistry there, definitely," Robinson tells Zap2it. "I know that Lucas already has big plans. He would jump at the chance to [be with Hanna]. And I think Hanna is coming to terms with her attraction towards Lucas."

Brendan thinks the attraction between Lucas and Hanna is a universal theme of high school.

"Hanna will get pressure from people like Mona that she's going out with somebody who's less popular than she is. I think it's something that a lot of people struggle with at that age. Trying to do the cool thing as opposed to what they feel," says Robinson.

As to whether Hanna and Lucas will definitely get together, Robinson plays it coy. But he does offer a teaser.

"There is a pretty significant cliffhanger that's going to have to get resolved in the next 12 [episodes]. We'll see what happens," he laughs.

Turning to the big "Liars" mystery of who "A" is, Robinson says, "There are a couple twists and turns in upcoming episodes where you're really not sure, because you thought it was one person, now it might be another person. There are a couple characters coming into the mix who are very suspicious."

Robinson then gives us his "A" theory --

"This is way, way, way off ... but I think Laura Leighton (who plays Hanna's mother) would be an excellent A. I don't know how she could possibly have killed Alison, but I just want her character to be evil," he laughs about the former "Melrose Place" vixen. "Laura's actually really sweet, but I think that'd be really fun."

"Pretty Little Liars" airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
