Nathan Hale-Ray woes...

I'm stunned.

Mrs. Dadona, the principal here at NHRHS, walks the halls like some sort of neo-nazi forcing every student to face the "Dadona Inquisition" should he or she be outside of their classroom during class time. Never checks passes though. Dumb bitch.

She refused to allow the metals class to manufacture bottle openers because they could have a possible use in opening alcoholic beverages. The school relies on federal funding for it's sexual education courses so guess what! They're "Abstinence only." But the books are more than five years old, meaning that they were purchased by the school before the Bush administration's arbitrary mandate that any school not teaching an abstinence only sex ed program would NOT receive federal funding. Just to mention: those "Abstinence Only" programs feature text books that, unbeleivably, tell students that petting (fingering/handjobs) and oral sex can cause pregnancy!!

Wonderful. There's an enormous number of students completely unaware of their options sexually and even unaware of how to use a bloody condom (it's more complicated that you'd assume). It's absurd. The absinence only program allows the fear of sex that most young girls have to remain and even fuels it with the barage of bullshit about abstinence it forces on students. The result of this is simple. The town here offers teens NOTHING, and i mean NOTHING, to do but work at the local general store etc. So what do these teens who are deathly afraid of sex do? Drugs. Plain and simple. In this town where a good lay is scarce an eighth is cheap and easy to get.

If the teens knew about the easy availability of birth control (condoms, le pill etc) and weren't forced into a life of abstinence I can garauntee you that the drug use among teens in this town would drop by half. The simple reason: sex is far better than any drug and love is even better.

Why mention love? MY GOD DOES THIS MAN THINK THAT SEX MEANS LOVE??? No. But I am painfully aware that most teen boys, in their sometimes infinite stupidity, feel that a relationship isn't worth venturing into if there's no chance of getting laid. I shudder to think of how many beautiful loving relationships were lost because the young girl was afraid of sexuality.

You can say that the other solution is to somehow "fix" these teen boys. You can't. Hormones are here to stay and any kind of chemical interferance with the growth process would probably be very very bad. Teen boys are just way to damned horny.

I'm not trying to say that NHRHS should start telling all teen girls to put out or be alone, I'm just saying that the lack of sexuality in the girls is probably a result of the abstinence only education and that the drug use is MOST DEFINITELY a directresult of the teen boys inability to get some.

In a school of slightly over three hundred I've seen less than six couples.
