You know, sometimes liberalism can have its downsides. My art history class is the perfect example. Sam had said to me fairly recently that the liberal nature of the class will surely lead to stupid, unfounded, or utterly nonsensical remarks. And I hate the fact that he's right about that. We're finishing the Baroque and Rococo periods tomorrow with one epic test for which I'm studying for now (ha!). There are people in my class who feel they must take it upon themselves to abhor every work we see. There are people who are sick of seeing Jesus and churches and Western religion in general.
They are obviously in the wrong class.
Sure, I wouldn't put anything of Bernini's in my house, but that doesn't mean it's "ugly." Rococo has no place in an office building or a library. But none of that detracts from its grandeur or the artistic craft involved. This is why when people call something "ugly," I want to do
this to them. Seriously. If the pretentious attitude of some people in my class had been removed (by way of character assassination or lobotomy), I've no doubt that we'd actually be having the kind of class a lot of people would kill for.
On another note, I've got Shall We Dance? playing in the background. I have a total crush on Richard Gere.
AND MY UNCLE GAVE ME HIS CAMERA. AHHHHHH! :D
