He managed to get all of the bags onto the counter without dropping anything, but cursed when the bag full of fruit toppled over. He saved a few apples from rolling off the counter, and pushed the fruit towards the wall, not even bothering to put it all back in the bag. "Fuck it." He mumbled, as he caught an orange, just as it rolled off the edge. He put it in the pile of apples and walked out of the kitchen. He sat down on the couch next to Greg and grabbed one of the spoons. "I haven't had ice cream in months."
"You lead a sad, sad existence." Greg mumbled, his mouth already full of ice cream. "Yum. Chocolate fudge. Who's idea was it to get this kind?" He grinned, diving in for another spoonful.
He rolled his eyes. "I wonder." He said sarcastically, taking a bite. "Mmmmmm. I forgot how good this stuff tastes." He took another, rather large, bite, then licked the spoon clean before grabbing another spoonfull. He realized it seemed to be getting easier to be close to Greg without feeling so desprate or hopeless.
"Uh-huhhh." Greg moaned a bit, enjoying his food. They ate in silence for a while, and the next thing Greg knew, over half of the ice cream was gone and they were still going strong at it.
He paused for a second, looking at his spoon thoughtfully. "Don't you have to, I dunno, work at all anymore? Not that I don't want you here, but seriously..." Greg trailed off, grinning a bit.
