I am not writing from Caffe Beignet this morning but rather from the bed of our hotel room as we wait for room service and a really late breakfast.
Yesterday was an all in all perfect day. We walked down Royal and shopped. Saw a mini carnival parade. Had a pretty tastey lunch at a restaurant right next to Jackson Square and then shopped some more.
We did go down to Harrah's and played some blackjack. We started out with a 100 in chips and left with over 300. At one point Chris was delt two 8's that turned into 4 hands of 18 to 19 and the dealer had 17. I kept getting 11 and then a face card on my double.
Later we went to the Bourban House for dinner. It was a just "ok", little disappointing but we still had fun. After dinner was Pat O'Briens dueling pianos and lots of hurricanes. It was a blast, I love that place. Walked down Bourban and did some reveling, got some beads. Found out some people would much rather see Chris topless than me. ;) Used to be a night when my titties were good for beads from gay men. Maybe it's age thing.
A little side, bread. I love bread. When you go out in Portland each restaurant has their own bread which is a delicious course with oils and balsamic. In NOLA the bread is seriously lacking. All these nice restaurants have the same small loaf of boring white bread like they all bought it from the same bakerery. I guess they can,t be perfect.
Now breakfast is settled so off to explore and the last day of my 30's.
