My daily routine:
1. finish school like at 5:45-ish
2. call my mom
3. Pick my wedgie
4. Munch on something
5. tell her I'm out, she leaves home, and picks me up at the train station.
It's been like that for almost 3 months...until today!
What a terrifying day.
So I'm waiting for the subway w/ my headphones on. When suddenly there's this big electrical noise like-ZAARRR!!! The intercome tells us to evacuate immediately!
Turns out, there was a gas leak. And it reeked! People were fainting, ok no they weren't, but that would've made this experience a whole lot interesting.
Then all hell broke loose...7th and Hope street became this huge danger zone, it was insane. I felt as if I were in an action movie starring Bruce Willis or something.
I've never seen so many firemen and red flashing lights before in my life.
The security man told the raging crowd that it could be 15 minutes or the whole night until they fixed the situation. Certain buses were working, but I have no sense of direction and neither did the people I asked.
People were panicking, running in circles, and asking for directions. I tried sticking to this lady that was going the same direction as me, but she took some bus. Before I knew it, I was stranded outside of the station, with creepy perverts hitting on me and asking for change. ha!
I called home for the millionth time and just my luck, no one answered.
I thought of taking a taxi or risking an adventure on a bus that took me to MacArthur Park, but I did not want to travel carrying around a huge cardboard, and I certainly didn't want to die in the outfit that I was wearing,jk.
It was dark, kinda hot, I was scared of this black bum that kept singing about cocaine and smelled like a bakery mixed with rotten piss. It was disgusting.
I tried asking for directions, but I got so many different ones that I decided to stay in place.
I called Tom to protect me, but that didn't work. He did try helping me by calling my house. There was no answer because Meli had already left the house like at 6:00.
Luckily, I stuck around the station and it was back in service after a very long hour. Yeah I may sound like a big whiny baby, but how would you like to be all alone, lost in the city, w/ crazy people singing songs, and people breathing down your back? yeah- thought so.
When I got to NoHo, to make matters worse, there was this other black guy-bum-man that was asking to know my info. Me being stupid, I told him my name was Gia (the first thing that came to mind.Hey, I was nervous). I was wondering how he knew what school I attend, I began to walk faster, but duh! My bag says it all! Now that I think about it, he wasn't all that bad looking, kinda cute, Lenny Kravitz-ish, with more dirt on his face and actually carrying a guitar, how funny!
As soon as I spotted Meli, I ran. I was really happy to see her and go home...how weird. It feels good to be home.
