Is Valentine's day a Halmark holiday? Yeah. So how'd it start? In rome, the rulers got pissed off because no one wanted to go to war, they all had families. So how did they solve this problem? Ban marriages! Saint Valentine and Saint Marius illegally maried people in secret. He was found out, beaten, and decapitated by the roman rulers.
Beaten AND decapitated you say? Why, that must mean he's martyr matterial. And so, Saint Valentine was martyred on February 14th, 270. Yay, let's all give cards!
