(no subject)
today i woke up and alyssa drove my car back home. i smoked weed and read the watchmen all day. mikey's room flooded, and he was on a delayed plane back in from omaha so zach and sam and i worked on keeping the water contained to his room. then alejandro came over with an industrial-ass pump and fixed the situation. one good thing about this is that it solidified our expectation that the drain outside his room was getting clogged and overflowing. Not so alamo, i've kept my eye on it all week and it was draining fine, even as water seeped into ChazzMc's room.
As this was going on i made a batch of macaroni and trees with shells. i put peas and broccoli into it. it's good and even better with that hot sauce they give out at Noodles and co. Cholula also works well. On friday alyssa and i made Seitan Picotta with olives and green beans. it really fucking ruled.
"Make Space" (for the present lack of a better name) had its first meeting tonight. 11 of us talked about how we could make this happen. i'm really excited to see how dedicated these kids are to putting together a space. Hopefully it will be part art gallery/studio, part cottage industry (screen printer's workshop CCC style), part chicago house show space (but safer/bigger). One of the coolest things about tonight was that there was at least one representative from 4 houses that kids live in who have a vested interest in building and contributing to an extremely robust diy scene. everybody seems to be on the same page about what it is and will be, with an abundance of cool new ideas too. lets hope we will see it through to fruition.
