I've found that there are far too many people who lie for no apparant reason.
In a situation where it would be just as easy to tell the truth than it would be to lie, why would you lie?
And even if it is only slightly inconvenient to tell the truth, isnt it better just to do so and avoid seeming like a complete idiot to those who can see right through your lie?
And why lie to get peoples hopes up, only to let them down in the end. It seems pointless. Counterproductive. Mean...
